Early investing is already complex enough: due diligence on the people contacting you, due diligence on the team, lots of uncertainty, SAFTs treated as toilet paper and so on. Echo makes good deal flow accessible to everybody (more or less) and removes some of the hurdles of the due diligence, while benefitting also the groups providing the flow as they earn from the profitable opportunities they share.

on echo · 1862· 1y ago31“One of the few complete EVM Ecos”Base, mostly thanks to Coinbase's pushing factor (obviously) has quickly become one of the most complete and liquid EVM ecosystems, where not only you can have your full trading experience (Aave/Morpho, Perps, liquid DEX) but you also see new things pop up here and there (frenpet, virtuals, heck even Ethos itself). Setting aside the critical thinking about centralization or not (i don't think every L2 needs to be decentralized) having ecosystems pushing for new things (but please no more Zora) is a net positive.

Long waiting times and always between the last spots in terms of convenience on bridge aggregators. Now you've fast options paying just slightly more and the times are very competitive.

Deserved or not, it's hard to tell. Did the man change or was it always like this? Anyway, fast forward to today, he releases public statements and appear on stages with idiotic price targets for bags that he proceed to sell 5 days later. McAfee 2026.
