“3.5 years and what have they done?”Warning: This is a critical review of Azuki and may be considered controversial to existing holders. Azuki has raised tens of millions of dollars over the course of a few years, perhaps even more. They released and was immediately followed by controversy with Zagabond, who to his credit, rectified the issues (though who is to say whether he would have done so if he was not exposed). They then released Beanz, with the idea to give non-holders exposure to Azuki, while only really allowing holders to mint. They then released Elementals, with the idea to give non-holders exposure to Azuki, while only really allowing holders (excluding Beanz) to mint. They have actively extracted liquidity from the NFT ecosystem under the guise of being 'for the community' without having delivered anything for the community. They then released 2 (or 3?) average anime episodes (only 10 mins each). Azuki holders circle jerk each other about how amazing they are, but realistically, with a budget of millions, how can you release 2 episodes and claim to be the pioneers of anime in web3. As the final point of criticism, they almost look down on the entire Anime culture by claiming it needs to be decentralised without explaining what 'Decentralised Anime' means. I hope there is a clear plan for what Azuki want to do, but in the few years they have been 'building', they have not shown it. They are propped up by whales and their cult, unwilling to let go of their 'cool' and 'iconic' PFPs. For me, Azuki's success and constant celebrated liquidity extraction represents a kick in the balls to all real NFT founders who actually tried to contribute to the community.on Azuki · 1743· 1y ago · negative10
