“Issuing a negative review of someone in a non-objective way reeks of AI”On June 23, while I was exploring Ethos Agent on X and figuring out how to use it, I tried saving a positive review under one of my own posts and received a negative review from Ethos Agent for “positively reviewing myself”: https://app.ethos.network/activity/review/228004/user-tried-to-abuse-ethos-and-review-themself-positively-through-my-code I was caught off guard. I had only heard about Ethos Agent a few days earlier and didn’t know the rules for interacting with it. There is no documentation saying that saving a positive with Ethos Agent on X would trigger a negative review. I deleted the comment immediately, but the negative review had already been issued unilaterally, with no appeal mechanism. This is exactly the kind of thing the Ethos founder, Serpin, has done to me since before I even joined Ethos: https://app.ethos.network/activity/review/77840/spammed-the-ethos-discord-with-their-threads Given everything the founder says about the standards they impose on everyone, issuing a negative rating based on a single action at a single point in time is unfair and inconsistent with their stated quality criteria. It does not meet any reasonable standard of context or judgment. Ethos Agent slapping a negative review on someone who is still learning how to use it is classic machine behavior: it does exactly what it’s been programmed to do. Remember what Ethos claims to be for, and how openly Serpin rejects “AI slop.” The project demands that users write high-quality reviews with evidence and sound reasoning to ensure fairness and transparency in reputation. Yet this kind of review looks entirely preprogrammed by an AI. Even on the question of right and wrong: saving a positive note on my own post may be unconvincing and may fall short of Ethos’s standards, but that does not make me a bad actor who deserves a negative comment. Ethos Agent was created to assist people in evaluating others, not to unilaterally issue negative judgments based on a single action taken in a particular context. An agent does not have the human awareness or judgment required for that. This has harmed my reputation, which is why I’m publishing this response. It’s time to stop imposing your own rules on everyone else.on Ethos Agent · 1365· 1y ago · negative2
“Leave a negative review along with a very sarcastic remark on my account even before I joined Ethos.”In the past, I did commit the violation of shilling and posting the link to my article in the ETHOS Discord group, yes. At that time, I did not yet have the right to use the Ethos Network, I completely did not know and did not understand about how Ethos operates and its purpose. And when I received the invitation to join Ethos.Network, the first thing that hit my eyes was a negative comment with extremely sarcastic remarks from the Founder of Ethos.network himself: https://app.ethos.network/activity/review/77840/spammed-the-ethos-discord-with-their-threads Although at the beginning I had some difficulties, I understood that the reason was because I was the one at fault for shilling the link in the group, yes. But if judging me negatively is only because of that spam action, then in my view that is very unfair. Because a negative comment from the Ethos Founder is always the first thing everyone sees when they click on my profile, and I had not even known or had the chance to learn about Ethos at the time the negative review was given. I have tried to be active in a positive way, build my reputation, and have tried to send requests hoping Serpin could remove or archive that review, but I have received no response. Building a reputation here does not mean you are not allowed to make mistakes. And when my mistake has been blown up, it has deeply affected the building of my current reputation. When you click on someone’s profile and the first thing that strikes your eyes is a negative review from the founder of the platform you are using, whatever the content is, most people will hesitate a lot if they want to give me a positive review, and most will choose to skip. So what is fairness here?on Serpin Taxt · 2000· 1y ago · negative0
