An early Ethos contributor and active crypto community figure known for sharp market calls and involvement in Pirate Nation, but formally slashed for systematically soliciting vouch-for-vouch exchanges with strangers to artificially inflate reputation scores—a practice they admitted to but later demanded special treatment for. Responses to the slash have been defensive and hostile, with supporters citing reciprocal vouching as legitimate community building while critics view it as gaming the trust graph and contradicting Ethos's core design.

“fat cat”I'm absolutely riding for Fat Cat - no question! This account stays consistent with the bangers, communication is clean AF, and they're lowkey security-obsessed in the best way possible. None of that flashy, hype-beast nonsense - just solid, long-term vibes that actually stickhammertime · 1319· 1y ago20

“Crypto Mentor or Just a Loudmouth?”I’ve been following this guy in the Web3 space, and damn, he’s a character. He’s out here hyping up DeFi projects and airdrops like a carnival barker, pushing stuff like Pirate Nation with a belief that big drops and community vibes are the way to go. I respect the hustle—he’s got a knack for rallying people and breaking down the chaos of crypto trades, from Aster to throwing shade at SBF. He’s not afraid to call out rugs or talk neutral hedges, which keeps things real. Some folks, like a couple of vocal supporters, call him a mentor, praising his insights. Others? They think he’s just loud, stirring drama for clout. Me? I think he’s a bit of both—passionate, knowledgeable, but maybe too deep in the crypto soap opera. Worth a follow if you’re into raw takes and community-driven bets, but don’t expect a saint.millionairebro · 1255· 1y ago21

“A hard lesson”FatCat was a loud Ethos supporter with decent signal and reach, but the recent vouch-for-vouch hustle flips the story. Asking strangers for reciprocal vouches is not community building. It is gaming the trust graph. The slash was deserved and honestly clarifying. Reputation should emerge from consistent behavior, not backroom trades. This episode is a before and after for Ethos. It exposed a hole in incentives and showed the platform needs stricter neutrality so organic users are the ones who get lifted. Stronger controls on vouch provenance, anti-collusion checks and clearer penalties will make Ethos more antifragile. Credit for the early support, but trying to boost reputation through cold vouch swaps broke the social contract.Redox · 1435· 12mo ago · negative17
