Dungeons of Fortune is a Web3 dungeon-crawler game that raised millions in April 2025 but abandoned the project shortly after launch, with the team going silent and no updates since late April. The token and NFT prices collapsed dramatically within 24 hours, and the project is widely characterized as a rug pull that left investors and players with significant losses. While a small minority praise the game's concept and mechanics, the overwhelming consensus describes broken promises, aggressive pay-to-win monetization, lack of transparency, and complete absence of communication or roadmap delivery.

“Dungeons of Rug & Despair”You dump $COINS (which you either buy or grind forever) to start runs, your hero auto-fights in some backend simulation, and most of the time you get trash loot or your hero dies and gets burned permanently.

“Be careful which project you choose to join”Its a basic ponzi scheme. They disappeared. Be careful.

“A project”They really haven’t put out much lately to give a tangible positive word for them. I will remain neutral till I see progress but give ups to the team.

“Rocky Launch, Ongoing Development”Dungeons of Fortune had a very rough start following its launch in April 2025. Both the $COINS token and hero NFTs saw a sharp collapse within the first day - the token’s market cap fell from over $5.5M to around $330K, while NFTs dropped from a $50 mint price to roughly $5. This kind of immediate drawdown raised serious concerns, with many pointing to excessive hype and questioning the project’s long-term value. Heavy reliance on influencer-driven promotion and price behavior similar to classic pump-and-dump patterns further damaged confidence. That said, as of December 2025, the project is still operating and shipping updates, including mechanics like hero minting through $COINS burns and the introduction of a DPS-based Elo system. Since the initial incident, there haven’t been notable new complaints, suggesting some level of stabilization.

“big red flag”It’s a Web3/NFT play-to-earn game, not a real mainstream game.
