“Gorbagana, a meme turned into a solution”It is a meme that originated from a real meme, such as a post on X between people in the Solana community and the founder himself, Toly. It's funny and there's a lot of content around the meme, inspired by Oscar the Grouch, but the reality behind that post was to create a bridge between SOL and GOR, to fork the Solana code so that memes don't saturate the main network, and also at a significantly low cost, with virtually no fees. And they achieved all this without any funding. The Solana community welcomed this with open arms, resulting in a large and very rude community forming around GOR. It may have seemed like a meme by and for the culture, but the reality is that there is a lot of work behind it. They recently hit a bump in the road when a development team was building a backdoor that would have doomed GOR. “Trashnet”Been keeping an eye on @Gorbagana_chain lately and honestly the project feels way more than just a meme. It’s a Solana-fork L1 with its own vibe, mixing community energy with real infra stuff. They already have almost 18k followers and even got that blue check. What I like is they actually ship things — recently open-sourced their RPC stack with Laconic Network, and the Early Access campaign is pretty cool too.
