“The most “stable” among crypto bridges”I use it from time to time, and I’ve never encountered a situation where I couldn’t complete the transaction I needed. You can choose the speed and fees to save money if necessary, but overall, all transactions are inexpensive.

“A little of ups and downs”Not gonna lie Layerzero has been making quite a lot numbers of questionable actions and in crypto space this are not easily forgotten or forgiven, but what stood out about them is their constant ability to always clear the air when necessary which in my own view that's accountability in some way.

“The icon of the time”Just a quick reminder guys: before LayerZero we paid 1-2 bucks for EVERY BRIDGE LayerZero is definitely the icon of the time. So many talks, so many hopes and i believe they did everything good. They built really useful product, I used their technology countless times. So many talks about recent hack, a lot of people blame L0 but i fully support them. Maybe i'm wrong and don't understand how technology works but L0 deserved my trust for past 3 years

“Too many expectations, too little transparency”The technology is cool, no doubt about it, but questions about the true decentralization of oracles and relays remain. LayerZero has dominated the market, but sometimes it feels like everything is held together by the word of a few major players. Plus, the airdrop criteria issue left a bad taste in the community. It's stable, but it's still difficult to trust 100%.

“LayerZero can be great again”LayerZero is one of the most used protocols right now, and it powers a lot of big projects. The flexibility they give to developers is big, but as we saw with Kelp and rsETH, that same flexibility can become a risk if teams choose weak security configurations. It’s a classic DeFi story: powerful tools in the hands of teams that sometimes prioritize speed and cost over maximum security. The hack wasn’t great for LayerZero’s reputation, but the protocol itself continues to be used. Many projects still trust it, especially when they set up proper multi-verifier security.

Some popular alternatives in the ecosystem are Wormhole, Axelar, and Connext, which often charge lower fees because they leverage cheaper rollups or use simpler messaging mechanisms. In practice, the cost of any bridge largely depends on two factors: Gas prices on the source and destination chains with the arrival of improvements such as Proto-Danksharding and upcoming Danksharding upgrades, rollups are drastically reducing transaction fees (many transactions are expected to cost less than $0.001). Once these improvements are fully adopted, bridges that rely on low cost rollups will be able to offer significantly cheaper fees. The bridge’s own architecture some protocols centralize part of the process (for example, relayers) and may apply an additional margin to cover infrastructure costs. Others, such as Connext, aim to minimize these margins by using decentralized relayers and pricing fees based on the actual message usage.

“OG of cross chain infrastructure”one thing I'll give LayerZero credit for is they were building cross chain infracture way before multichain became the thing every project suddenly wanted to market. obviously not everything has been perfect, but i respect the fact they stayed focused on the same vision through different market conditions. they certainly helped move interoperability forward.
