From 384 activities · Apr 2026Somnia is a high-performance Layer 1 EVM-compatible blockchain delivering 1M TPS, sub-second finality, and sub-cent fees, purpose-built for gaming, metaverses, and real-time applications. The project earned strong community trust through a fair airdrop distribution to testnet participants and consistent post-launch engagement, with many users praising the fast, low-cost experience and polished games like Sparkball and Chunk. While some note early technical issues, occasional app instability, and concerns about long-term utility amid competing L1s, the team's transparency, active development, and community-first approach have cultivated lasting loyalty—many participants remained engaged after token launch rather than departing, a rarity in the space.

Received · 811Given · 0“Pioneering the Future of Onchain Gaming and Social Ecosystems”Somnia emerges as a next-gen EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain, engineered to power massive-scale gaming, metaverse platforms, and decentralized social networks. With 1M+ TPS, sub-second finality, and near-zero fees, it leverages MultiStream consensus and IceDB to handle Web2-level traffic while maintaining blockchain’s trustless security. Backed by $270M+ from a16z, SoftBank, and the Virtual Society Foundation, it’s positioned to redefine onchain infrastructure for consumer applications.

“The Promise and Challenge of a Gaming Blockchain”With its impressive technical promises of 1M+ TPS, sub-second finality, and sub-cent fees, Somnia Network is an extremely ambitious project aimed at the gaming industry. Delivering on these specs could position it as key infrastructure for Web3 gaming. However, its ultimate success depends not only on its technology but also on its ability to attract major developers and build a vibrant ecosystem in a highly competitive field.

hadimoghimi.eth | hadi1.base · 1286· 1y ago10“A Steady Vision Turning Web3 Ambition Into Reality”Somnia Network feels less like a startup chasing momentum and more like a builder quietly setting the foundation for what Web3 could become. Their communication balances clarity with conviction—never loud, never rushed, but always deliberate. What I find most compelling is the way they combine technical depth with an almost artistic sense of structure, making progress feel both inevitable and purposeful. In a space where many projects speak in noise, Somnia speaks in rhythm—measured, thoughtful, and grounded in real innovation. It’s the kind of presence that earns attention not through hype, but through quiet consistency and genuine progress.

This makes it naturally compatible with many existing apps and wallets. When I tried connecting, it felt smooth and familiar, unlike with other less common chains where issues often arise.

GS4ever · 1259· 1y ago10“Trying out Somnia”I've been testing Somnia for a bit, and overall it feels interesting. Transactions go through quickly and the fees are low, which is nice. Since it's EVM-compatible, I didn't have trouble using tools I already know. For now, it works smoothly, but I'll wait and see how adoption and long-term stability turn out.

With MultiStream consensus, IceDB tech, and backing from a16z, SoftBank, and more, it’s aiming to bridge web2 and web3. The testnet isn’t perfect yet bugs in quests, unclear target users, and slow task flow. Compared to Monad, stability and UX still need work. But if the team delivers, Somnia could be a strong contender for powering fully onchain consumer apps at scale.
