Somnia is a high-performance Layer 1 EVM-compatible blockchain delivering 1M TPS, sub-second finality, and sub-cent fees, purpose-built for gaming, metaverses, and real-time applications. The project earned strong community trust through a fair airdrop distribution to testnet participants and consistent post-launch engagement, with many users praising the fast, low-cost experience and polished games like Sparkball and Chunk. While some note early technical issues, occasional app instability, and concerns about long-term utility amid competing L1s, the team's transparency, active development, and community-first approach have cultivated lasting loyalty—many participants remained engaged after token launch rather than departing, a rarity in the space.

“It's not that bad.”This review will not contain objective statistical, analytical, or technical information - only a subjective opinion based on personal history. So, I joined the project almost at the very beginning, regularly completed quests on the site and interacted with the blockchain. To be honest, the project had a lot of problems in the testnet: many ecosystem products did not work well or did not work at all, some were just dog shit, transactions did not go through, quests were often not counted, and so on. Nevertheless, there were decent products, and the Somnia team tried to fix the problems quickly, although they did not always succeed. Eventually we got to TGE and the mainnet, and of course the airdrop. Obviously, like 90% of projects, they couldn't help but shit themselves at this stage.: 1. Let's start with the airdrop checker: being in the top 4000 of the leaderboard, with rubyscore level 10 and meeting all official criteria, I was "not eligible", like many other real people. You can imagine what started then, but the project team made the right decision - they made an appeal form so that people could fill it out and the team could double-check everything. To be honest, I didn't really believe that anything would change, but after a few days the team added about 8000 people, including me, to the "eligible" list. Of course, we can't know how many real people have suffered from this fight against bots, and how many bots have gone through it, but the fact that the team admits its mistakes and tries to do everything right is worthy of respect. 2. TGE: 3% of the total supply to binance alpha users and the price dropped from $1.6 to $0.6 even before the start of trading because of this, while real project participants could not simply claim their coins within a few hours... No comments. Still, I believe in the project: it's a really fast and cheap blockchain with a team behind it that really gives a shit about their work and the community. Yes, things are not going smoothly for them, but they are trying.Petr · 1228· 1y ago3
