Received · 32Given · 117“The artist everyone loves to hate”Pak was my entry into the Web3 space. In many ways, still one of its most fascinating figures. Long before the NFT boom reached mainstream attention, Pak was already playing with concepts that now define the space: NFTs, burns, fungible tokens, AI and the gamification of value. His projects weren’t just drops; they were performances, provocations and experiments in digital ownership. To me, he was an artist ahead of his time. There’s a loud corner of the internet that now frames Pak as a scammer or pure extractor. But I think that take is both lazy and wrong. Yes, he made a small fortune. But more importantly, he delivered (both conceptually and technically) on most of his promises. Many of his most performative works are still running, still evolving, still doing exactly what they were designed to do. Pak didn’t just ride the Web3 wave, he helped shape it.

on spida · 1390· 1y ago22“Recency bias??”Recent headlines with Safe's frontend may be biasing current reviews (57% positive at time of writing), but let's not forget that Safe (formerly Gnosis Safe) has been around the a while and safely secures over $54B in assets. I've used Safe for close to 2 years and have been very happy with their offerings. Features like multi sig security, progression planning, a slick and clean interface all add to the core offering and make for a compelling package.

He's slowly been building towards the vision of turning data into pixels and information into art. Couple this singular focus with ambition, reach and the ability to straddle two worlds (web2 & web3) and you have one of the most successful artists in this space. With this comes great expectation and a host of misperception, misunderstanding and sour grapes. Sadly you can't seem to have one without the other these days. I for one and team Refik 🙌🏾
