Sophon is a lifestyle blockchain built on zkSync's ZK Stack, designed to make crypto invisible in everyday activities like gaming, entertainment, and social apps through features like gasless transactions, account abstraction, and a gamified crypto card. The project gained recognition for a well-received airdrop that rewarded active ZKsync users fairly, and is praised for thoughtful product design, clear vision, and strong technical execution focused on consumer UX rather than hype. However, sentiment is mixed: while supporters highlight the innovative Social Oracle (zkTLS), smooth interface, and genuine focus on mass adoption, critics point to low user adoption, modest TVL, momentum loss after launch, the chain's eventual shutdown after nine months, and concerns about the team's strategic pivots—raising questions about whether the ambitious vision can translate into sustained ecosystem growth and real differentiated value.

“blockchain featuring entertainment”Sophon is a visionary project that puts entertainment and user experience at the heart of Web3. It stands out not only with its tech infrastructure but also with its strong community-driven approach. I believe the crypto space needs this right now.

“Marking the end of useless L2s”Sophon spent more than a year building an L2 ZK blockchain focused on entertainment, gaming & consumer crypto, but unfortunately failed to achieve those goals. Now they are shutting down the chain & moving to Base to build consumer apps there instead. Honestly, during all that time I barely heard about any apps on Sophon. The only thing I really remember is the airdrop for ZK power users, but that's all. They had a good start, but later just lost momentum. This whole situation shows that we no longer need more L2s. Instead, focus should be on building actual products rather than ghost chains that nobody uses (or only uses to farm airdrops). Building something unique, something that people will continue using even after the airdrop occurs, is the new meta.

It’s built to be flexible and secure, supporting a variety of applications like financial tools, digital art platforms, and games. Users can participate, take part in Kaito yapping and earn rewards by staking the SOPH token or running special nodes that help maintain the network. Key things that they are focusing on are, gasless onboarding, easier access to new users and entertainment focused

“A project that stands still”They conducted a successful airdrop, which is why Sophon's rating on Ethos did not collapse. Otherwise, this is another L2 with a low number of users, a modest TVL and no particular overall goal, except to thank early investors. At the same time, Sophon looks like a pretty smart project specifically for the social side of the crypto. I like that they really took into account those who actively used ZKsync and performed on-chain actions. Such justice towards real users is very refreshing.

“Best Airdrop”Sophon airdrop for real, active users” I learned about @sophon through the upcoming airdrop campaign on May 28th, and I was surprised to find that I was eligible to receive 1456.71 SOPH based on the ZKsync Power User criteria. Sophon is not only a project that brings crypto closer to mainstream users, but it also genuinely recognizes users with clear and substantial onchain activity. If you have actively interacted on ZKsync, don't miss this opportunity.

“sophon was okayish”sophon chain was mostly linked to zksync and people who used zksync got the airdrop but I was expecting more from them instead of dropping peanuts to people in the name of decentralization. If they wanted to build user base they should have been generous
