From 44 activities · Apr 2026Starknet is a ZK-rollup with solid technology—STARK proofs, Cairo language, low fees, and account abstraction—but faces severe community backlash centered on its airdrop distribution. The snapshot criteria excluded active users who lacked ETH balance despite using the network, and dismissive team communication (notably calling community members "e-beggars") fractured trust. Post-TGE, the token price collapsed dramatically, user activity dried up, and the project is widely perceived as having prioritized insiders over genuine supporters, leaving it labeled a "ghost chain" despite its technical merit.

Silentmode · 1362· 1y ago · negative10“Starknet”Starknet has good tech but a greedy team. They ended up farming users and the community at large. messed up the trust community's trust. it affected the token price badly.

JyteCeo · 989· 1y ago10“Slow chain, bad airdrop”StarkNet is slow. Transactions take forever, and the chain feels clunky for something that’s supposed to be “scalable.” The airdrop? Total mess. Real users and devs were left out, while random and inactive wallets got rewarded. No clear logic, no real transparency. Honestly, the hype doesn’t match the experience. Disappointed.

Kitta · 1442· 8mo ago17“Not entirely negative review”Starknet is known to many for its strange airdrop, where one of the criteria was the balance on a person's account (and only in eth, without taking into account money in protocols), which caused both a wave of joy among the lucky ones and a wave of hate among those who farmed yields in the defi ecosystem. The main figure (developer) of the project, Abdel, added to the negativity. It would be difficult to find a worse person and founder; he turned out to be the most capricious and touchy guy, who was remembered by many for his harsh statements. Nevertheless, their product is still being used by someone, development is ongoing, and they even have one believer in the form of Vitalik

Plebey by · 1307· 9mo ago · neutral9“The name Starknet”Bearing the name starknet really has me betting that bro is affiliated with Starknet and starknet is not a genuine project. At the same time i dont know if bro is affiliated with the project so im just going to drop this review plane as it should be. gm

Emory · 1265· 1y ago · neutral9“Disappointing Airdrop & Launch Experience for Starknet”They expected the STRK token launch to be a true nod to community contributors but it fell short in many ways. The airdrop required a minimum of 0.005 ETH in your wallet as of the snapshot date, which knocked out users who had heavily contributed but kept their funds in liquidity pools leaving many core users completely unrewarded. Even more frustrating were the wildly inconsistent allocations: someone who made thousands of transactions and hundreds of thousands in volume was stuck with just 500 STRK. Meanwhile, others got thousands of tokens just by fixing a typo in the GitHub repo. The fallout was immediate. Active user numbers spiked before the airdrop announcement, then collapsed sharply once the eligibility rules were unveiled. It was clear that many people participated solely to check eligibility, not because they believed in the project. Price action didn’t help either STRK dropped over 60% shortly after launch, underscoring that many just cashed out instead of staying engaged. In the end, what was meant to reward early users came off as an uneven and confusing experience one that hurt trust more than built it.

N1ghtStar · 1331· 1y ago · negative9“Starknet: Built on Hope, Left Its Community Hanging”Starknet started off strong. The tech was exciting, the fees were low, and it felt like a project that really cared about scaling Ethereum the right way. A lot of us joined early, spent time testing apps, bridging funds, and staying active, hoping it would all be worth it. But when the token finally came, most of the early community got little to nothing. People who stuck around and helped grow the network felt left out, while others who just showed up at the right time seemed to benefit more. What hurt most was how unclear everything was. We didn’t know what really counted, and after months of being active, it felt like all that effort didn’t matter. Starknet still has great tech, but the way they treated the community made a lot of us feel used. It’s hard to stay excited when you feel like you were just part of a farming strategy.

FOURTH · 1257· 1y ago · negative9“Overhyped tech, failed execution, broken trust.”Starknet promised groundbreaking ZK-rollup technology but delivered disappointment. The airdrop was poorly handled — loyal users and early adopters were excluded, while random or opportunistic participants benefited. That alone shattered a lot of community trust. The team’s attitude didn’t help: calling contributors “e-beggars” and showing little transparency or care for feedback. Despite strong funding and tech minds, the ecosystem is weak, dApps lack adoption, and the user experience is confusing at best. At this point, Starknet feels more like an overfunded experiment than a real, community-driven protocol.

Yndo · 1285· 1y ago · negative9“From Hope to Disappointment: My Starknet Story”Starknet was one of the first projects I invested in when I started out in the world of airdrops. At the time, I only had $200 to my name, and I spent around 90% of that on mainnet fees and transactions. I was an active user and contributed to the network. However, when the airdrop came, I was disqualified due to a ridiculous criterion: they only checked the ETH balance instead of the total wallet balance. Consequently, thousands of genuine users were excluded, while multi-wallet farmers walked away with substantial rewards. This was hugely disappointing for the community, with many people abandoning the project entirely.

Belissimmo (✧ᴗ✧) · 1252· 1y ago · negative9“Starknet”Starknet is one of the leading zk-rollup solutions aiming to bring serious scalability to Ethereum without sacrificing security. It’s built with real cryptographic innovation (STARK proofs), and you can feel the deep tech roots from StarkWare’s team. That said, Starknet is still early. Adoption is growing but not explosive yet, and a lot of the ecosystem feels experimental. Costs can spike during congestion, and UX isn’t as polished as some other Layer 2s. Plus, the community energy is strong, but it’s still finding its identity compared to more battle-tested chains. Overall, I respect Starknet’s tech-first approach and long-term vision. It’s a serious player but one that still needs time to mature before it feels fully “ready” for mass usage.
