From 44 activities · Apr 2026Starknet is a ZK-rollup with solid technology—STARK proofs, Cairo language, low fees, and account abstraction—but faces severe community backlash centered on its airdrop distribution. The snapshot criteria excluded active users who lacked ETH balance despite using the network, and dismissive team communication (notably calling community members "e-beggars") fractured trust. Post-TGE, the token price collapsed dramatically, user activity dried up, and the project is widely perceived as having prioritized insiders over genuine supporters, leaving it labeled a "ghost chain" despite its technical merit.

Robapuros.eth · 1341· 1y ago20“Tech without community”man, this is kinda painful memmory… but you know what they say – what dont kill us makes us stronger, right? they do say that? well, lets just stick to that then. honestly, i wasnt even gonna talk about the price drop, even tho, probly, thats the thing everybody cares the most. and yea, makes sence – we all here to make some cash, not just sit for the “tech”. but the project just like… stopped. completly. no any real progress. maybe we just dont see it? idk. i always keep in mind that we might be missing somethin – and i think that’s the right way to think about it. in my oppinion, the main problem is – without a real live, kickin community, even the best tech ain’t gonna fly. Starknet now facing bunch of issues: no stable organic grow, UX kinda meh, trust is low, and competition from more open & user-friendly L2’s is real. and unless they fix those deep problems – from this centralized tokenomics crap to not giving any real value for users – this thing probly never gonna be really needed long-term.

VСС · 1276· 1y ago · negative13“A Layer 2 platform”Some of the cool things about Starknet are that it uses Cairo programming language, STARK proofs and zkRollup. However, the price of STRK has dropped a lot since its launch!

But every time I try to actually use it, it feels like a science experiment in public beta. Transactions randomly hang, UX is clunky, bridging is a chore, and gas is weirdly high for an L2. Even the dApps feel like demos. I’ve tried coming back a few times hoping things improved - they didn’t, at least not enough. Maybe in a year or two it’ll click. But right now? It’s mostly just devs building dev tools for other devs. No real users, no real flow.

frissonmnia.base.eth · 1424· 1y ago · negative14“greedy team caused their own downfall”starknet had potential to be the next L2 that captures the mindshare of crypto enjoyers but instead, they fumbled the TGE by not rewarding their early users and rather, giving majority of the tokens to core contributors. I hope other protocols realize that having a cult like community is what helps push the price of the token. Study hyperliquid.

Brother Sum · 1531· 1y ago · negative14“Fumbled the Community Trust”starknet, despite its strong tech foundations in ZK, really dropped the ball on community engagement. the airdrop left many early supporters feeling betrayed and even called "e-beggars," which eroded trust and led to a noticeable decline in user activity, turning what could have been a vibrant ecosystem into what many now see as a ghost chain.

direktur.crypto · 1373· 1y ago · negative14“Continuation on project”Despite a lot of controversial comment on community, starknet is well adopted and usefull. It been used with another project for example at paradex, and many more. I wish starknet is more scalable not only for institutional project but also look at how success other layer2 attract more user to use starknet. tbh I never use starknet again after TGE.

In a fast-moving industry filled with risks, having someone like Heyman who prioritizes truth and community well-being is invaluable. He is without doubt one of the people I trust most in this space.

What was initially presented as a revolutionary solution for Ethereum scaling has instead become a project defined by broken promises and a failure to respect its community. My experience, along with that of many others, has been one of consistent frustration.

Rick Coin Doctor · 1512· 1y ago · negative13“"early user, left empty-handed"”I’ve been on StarkNet since the start adding liquidity, testing apps, bridging, helping the network grow. When the airdrop came, many of us who put in the time got nothing. Instead, they rewarded other groups, making it clear our efforts didn’t matter. The rules for who got rewarded were strange, and there was no clear explanation. Other L2s have shown appreciation to early users, but StarkNet missed that chance. Add in a high FDV, odd criteria like holding 0.01 ETH at snapshot, and a lack of transparency and it left a bad taste. For me, it’s hard to see the value here. The crosschain tools left my assets scattered in tiny amounts across wallets, and the network doesn’t feel active or useful.
