Sui is a Layer 1 blockchain widely praised for lightning-fast transactions, minimal gas fees, and smooth user experience powered by parallel transaction execution and the Move programming language. The network stands out for its polished wallet design, developer-friendly tools like zkLogin and DeepBook, and growing ecosystem spanning DeFi, gaming, and NFTs. While most users highlight its technical performance and accessibility, some concerns have been raised about decentralization following validator actions after the Cetus hack, and the ecosystem remains smaller than established competitors despite strong technical fundamentals and consistent team execution.

“Scalable, fast, and developer-friendly Layer 1 for the next generation of decentralized applications.”Sui's architecture leverages the Move programming language, originally developed by Meta, to facilitate secure and efficient smart contract development. The network's emphasis on parallel transaction processing and an object-centric data model enables it to achieve high scalability and speed, making it suitable for various decentralized applications, including gaming, DeFi, and social media platforms.

“Defied crypto narrative of decentralisation”Giving negative review as they today defied crypto narrative of decentralisation by blocking funds hacked on Cetus. Below is post from their twitter page today - 4:19 pm UK time: - We’ve learned that a Cetus smart contract was hacked this morning for approximately $223M and Cetus subsequently paused their smart contracts to prevent further theft. - Cetus worked together with the other DeFi protocols, the Sui Foundation, and the Sui validators to collectively protect the ecosystem. A large number of validators identified the addresses with the stolen funds and are ignoring transactions on those addresses until further notice. - The Cetus team is exploring paths to recover those funds and return them to the community. An incident report from Cetus is forthcoming. - The Sui Foundation and the rest of the ecosystem are committed to supporting Cetus as they work through this incident.
