From 119 activities · Apr 2026Uniswap is the foundational DEX that pioneered decentralized trading since 2018, introducing the AMM model that reshaped DeFi and inspired countless forks. Users consistently praise its intuitive interface, deep liquidity across multiple chains, fast execution, and zero security exploits over eight years—making it the gold standard and default choice for token swaps. The platform continues to innovate through V3 concentrated liquidity, V4 hooks, and Unichain expansion, though one critic argues the UNI token receives extractive treatment with zero accrual value despite the protocol's technical leadership.

“Uniswap Governance Proposal”A historic moment for Uniswap. After years of silence, Labs is turning the protocol fee switch on and linking it directly to UNI burns. This move finally gives the token real utility and aligns all incentives across the ecosystem. The proposal includes burning 100M UNI from the treasury, redirecting Unichain sequencer fees to burns, and introducing Fee Discount Auctions to internalize MEV. It also transforms Uniswap v4 into an onchain aggregator that collects fees from external liquidity sources. Labs will stop charging fees on its UI and wallet, shifting focus entirely to protocol growth. Regulatory pressure once kept them sidelined. That’s no longer the case. Now they’re back in full force with a clear mission: make Uniswap the global hub for tokenized value. This is the most significant proposal since UNI’s launch. Deflationary mechanics, cleaner governance structure, and a renewed vision for sustainable growth. A true turning point for Uniswap and its holders.

As the team behind the iconic Uniswap protocol, they’ve created one of the most important pillars of DeFi—empowering users with permissionless, non-custodial trading. I first engaged with Uniswap through Ethos, and it instantly felt like the future: no middlemen, instant swaps, and full control over my assets.
