At the time, the idea of trading perpetuals on-chain, without giving up custody, felt wild, but it worked. I tried it, half out of curiosity and half because of rumors. And when the airdrop landed, it hit big. What’s crazy is how consistent the platform’s been since. Years later, dYdX still feels sharp fast UI, smooth performance, and one of the few DEXs that really scaled without losing its edge. Came for the airdrop, stayed for the product.

bilbie 🐱 · 1285· 1y ago20“Once a Leader, Now Left Behind”DYdX was one of the first large-scale decentralized perp platforms. Back in the day, it had a strong reputation and gave out a solid airdrop. But over time it feels like the team gave up on the token no real utility, no clear vision. Interest faded, and now it’s falling behind newer, faster competitors like Hyperliquid. If they want to regain relevance, they’ll need to step it up. Personally, I stopped using dYdX a while ago — like many others, I’ve moved on to platforms that are actually evolving.

Back then, everyone was talking about DeFi, especially Dydx. My first steps in trading were both bullish and bearish. I think everyone had a similar experience. I liked the interface, the trading tools, and the team's attitude towards users. There is a lot to say about this platform. But, as we understand, new projects are coming to replace it. I think everyone should choose where to trade for themselves.

Their X posts keep it real — always sharing stuff like new trading pairs or that insane $1.5T volume milestone. Got into them when I tried their perpetuals, and the low fees plus 50x leverage option blew me away. No KYC nonsense, just connect your wallet and trade. Their MegaVault for earning yield is a nice touch too. They’re legit about decentralization and transparency, making DeFi trading smooth and trustworthy. Big respect for their game.
