“Very likely a scam”He approached me as an artist and invited me to work on his project. Right from the start, he offered me a pretty solid amount of money: $5,000 for the first test week and then $8,000 per week after that. The scheme went like this: we have an interview call, then we sign a contract, then he sends me $5,000 to my wallet, and I start my test week. This was accompanied by my constant questions about what work I would need to do and in what volume, and I got very vague, non-specific answers. Every time I asked what exactly I would need to do, the reply was something like, “If you’re not okay with the payments, we can revise it.” Even though that wasn’t my question at all. It was as if they were ready to pay any amount just to get me to agree to the next step. Then, when I asked again what exactly I would have to do, they finally said I would need to create 20 NFTs. I’ve worked with project teams in this format before. But I’ve never been paid per week. logically, if you’re hiring an artist to create 20 NFTs, you pay per NFT, not per week. Instead of a “$5,000 test week,” you’d give the artist a test assignment. Of course, I suspected a scam as soon as I saw those numbers because they’re very atypical for my line of work. But I was curious to see what they’d propose next. The next step was supposed to be an online call. My condition was to have it either on Telegram or Discord, or I would send them a Google Meet link myself. In the end, they told me that after “consulting with the security department,” they were very concerned for their safety and refused to work with me because they didn’t want to click any links I sent (completely ignoring the other options). I’m 99% sure this is a scam.on CryptoCactus 🌵 · 1183· 1y ago · negative7
