However, the fundamental problem was the severe disconnect between the team's execution and their vision, resulting in a nearly stagnant platform ecosystem and slow actual progress. A deeper issue was the near-complete breakdown in collaboration with the community. The vitality of crypto projects comes from community consensus and co-construction, but when a team can't communicate effectively, incorporate feedback, and engage the community, even the grandest narratives lose their foundation and turn into one-sided talk. So, this isn't just a technical issue of "lagging progress"; it's a classic case of failure regarding governance, transparency, and community management. It serves as a reminder that in the crypto world, "potential" without "execution" and "community synergy" is almost worthless.

The project is original and carries a positive energy, with a clear vision to scale Ethereum for the good of the ecosystem. Its recent NFT performance has been impressive, and I personally admire the technology as well. Espresso is tackling a major issue in crypto today: L2 fragmentation. Its shared sequencer is not just for show—it genuinely enables rollups to achieve composability and decentralization without sacrificing speed. Backed by top-tier institutions like a16z, this is one of the few infrastructure projects I genuinely hope becomes an industry standard.
