From 283 activities · Apr 2026ENS (Ethereum Name Service) is a foundational decentralized naming system that transforms long wallet addresses into simple, human-readable .eth names, making crypto transactions safer, easier, and more accessible. Users consistently praise it for eliminating copy-paste errors, enabling seamless integration across wallets and dApps, and providing true ownership of digital identity independent of centralized platforms. While widely recognized as essential Web3 infrastructure with strong community support and a notable airdrop history, some concerns have been raised about pricing decisions and domain renewal fees.

Snowy · 1255· 1y ago9“OG Tech, Seamless Identity Layer for Web3”I registered my first ENS name very early, and it’s been one of my best Web3 decisions. Before ENS, sharing an Ethereum address felt like reading a Wi-Fi password long, awkward, and prone to typos. ENS changed that. Suddenly, myname.eth became my Web3 passport used for DeFi, NFTs, DAOs, and even social layers like Farcaster and Lens. I still remember the airdrop; it wasn’t just free tokens, it felt like recognition for believing early. But beyond the hype, ENS has become infrastructure. It simplified identity, helped prevent address scams, and became a flex and utility rolled into one. I use my ENS daily, and it’s integrated across the best dApps. Yes, it’s Ethereum Layer 1 so gas costs can bite, but the UX gains outweigh it. ENS laid the blueprint for others but remains the most respected, the most used, and still innovating. If you're serious about Web3, ENS isn’t optional but essential.

“Best web3 name service ever”Here's a concise and balanced review of the Ethereum Name Service (ENS), a Web3 name service, based on available information: "ENS is a game-changer for Web3, simplifying the crypto experience by replacing complex Ethereum addresses with human-readable names like 'alice.eth.' It’s a decentralized naming system built on Ethereum’s blockchain, making it secure, censorship-resistant, and interoperable across dApps and blockchains. I love how it streamlines transactions—sending crypto or accessing decentralized websites feels effortless, and the integration with wallets like MetaMask is seamless. However, the immutability that makes ENS censorship-resistant can be a double-edged sword, as it might enable illegal activities, like hosting unremovable malicious content.

duykhac · 1221· 1y ago9“.ens | that ns that started it all”the first ever naming service on blockchain and insanely popular celebrations of ENS drop. Not just the utility, but cater the community in every way. Although there hasn't been much of an improvements since launch, I hope to see it grow and thrive in the next 5 years. ens might might play a huge role in the crypto economic infra.
