Farcaster is a decentralized social protocol built on Base and Ethereum that emphasizes portable identity, on-chain ownership, and builder culture. The platform is praised for its clean UX, Frames (interactive posts), integrated wallet, and genuine community focused on real conversations rather than clout-chasing—often described as crypto Twitter done right. However, adoption remains a persistent challenge: monthly active users peaked around 80,000 in mid-2024 but collapsed to under 20,000 by late 2025, with critics noting it has failed to break out of the crypto bubble despite strong technology and funding. While early users and developers remain bullish on its potential and ecosystem of mini-apps, concerns persist about sustainability, moderation inconsistencies, and whether the platform can ever compete with X for mainstream attention.

“Well well well”After 4.5 years in development, it's incredibly disappointing to see how little progress Farcaster has made. Despite all the hype and funding, the platform feels like a half-baked experiment rather than a polished product. The user base is minimal, the interface is clunky, and there’s still no clear value proposition. It’s hard to believe a team could spend nearly five years on this and deliver something so underwhelming. At this point, it feels more like a vanity project than a serious contender in the decentralized social media space.

“NEVER LOST THEIR HYPE”if I want to talk about Farcaster as a making money machine I should back the day they launched the OG NFTs and then $DEGEN token. It was a revolutionary in social network and bring a huge hype on them. Those days everyone was talking about Farcaster and its influence on the lifestyle of community, because of $DEGEN most of us retired from crypto. After that they see they are losing their hype because of downing price of $DEGEN, they decided to launch new hype was called pro-Farcaster which makes another life changing for most of us as a community, the process still maintains this social network as a successful product in the cryptocurrency

“Best Crypto Social App”Farcaster is by far the best crypto social app I have used. Specially the facility of building apps right inside the Farcaster is game changing as users do not have to go to external sites for any mints, transactions etc. Totally recommended for crypto bros!

“Onchain”Farcaster has alot of usecase so I'm surprised it's so underrated for real.but that's mention it will not outwork other social media in the future as web3 advances. Let's say I'm very optimistic on base Innovation

“Best decentralised social media”I use Farcaster very often and the experience is truly amazing. You can easily earn money by publishing quality content. It's an excellent Web3 social platform for building a network within the crypto ecosystem. I highly recommend it!

“A Refreshing Take on Social Media”Farcaster is a compelling new social protocol that aims to redefine what a social network can be. At its core, it's not a traditional, centralized app but a decentralized network, much like email for social interactions. What's Excellent: The standout feature is Farcaster's "channels." These are topic-based feeds that function like superior versions of Twitter/X's hashtags or Reddit's communities. They allow users to dive deep into specific interests—from crypto and tech to art and memes—without the noise of a main timeline. The user experience is clean, fast, and intuitive, focusing squarely on content. Furthermore, the decentralized nature is its greatest strength. You own your identity and social graph. This means you are not locked into a single app; you can use different clients (like Warpcast, the most popular one) to access the same network and followers, ensuring true user sovereignty.

“The future of social on-chain”I’ve been using Farcaster for a while now and it truly feels like how social media should be. It’s open, decentralized, and lets users actually own their data and identity. The community is small but genuine people really talk, share ideas, and support each other without the noise of traditional platforms. With features like in-app wallet, mini apps, and weekly rewards, it’s more than just social media. It’s a growing ecosystem that blends crypto, creativity, and real connection.

“Web3 Platform helps to further access web3”Besides Tiktok, X, and other, Farcaster is also a platform used by many web3 enthusiasts. The only downside is the fee to create an account, everything else is good.

“decentralized social app where base people hang out”started using farcaster recently after seeing more people from the base community posting there. it’s basically a crypto-native version of twitter, but it runs smooth and feels way more genuine posts stay onchain, you own your account, and there are built-in tools that make interacting with apps easier. community’s active too, people actually talk instead of just farming
