Farcaster is a decentralized social protocol built on Base and Ethereum that emphasizes portable identity, on-chain ownership, and builder culture. The platform is praised for its clean UX, Frames (interactive posts), integrated wallet, and genuine community focused on real conversations rather than clout-chasing—often described as crypto Twitter done right. However, adoption remains a persistent challenge: monthly active users peaked around 80,000 in mid-2024 but collapsed to under 20,000 by late 2025, with critics noting it has failed to break out of the crypto bubble despite strong technology and funding. While early users and developers remain bullish on its potential and ecosystem of mini-apps, concerns persist about sustainability, moderation inconsistencies, and whether the platform can ever compete with X for mainstream attention.

“Great social network for web3 and not only”In my opinion Farcaster is the best decentralized social network, it really reflects what a social network should be. Full control over digital identity, content ownership, freedom of speach. Another thing I really like is the mini app section, with lots of cool apps designed for user engagement and utility.

“Farcaster: My Simple Take”Farcaster is a pretty good social platform, and it’s great to see the world gradually moving in this direction. I use it actively, keep some tokens in my wallet, and I also have the NFT for the Pro subscription - among the first 10,000 people. Overall, solid experience and a format I’m happy to support.

“The Future Is Here”Farcaster is advancing in a very technical manner without rushing as part of its strategy. From my perspective, the new features it introduces every day and the application's interface are quite good. Of course, there are things that need to be improved because it is competing against the giants of Web 2.0. I believe that everyone will be here in a few years.

“Not Good as portrayed”I struggle to get invite for almost a month during which I tried to pay but it never went through and boom one day I got access,I love it at first but then as times goes on I loose interest because of the kind of content and especially the interphase. Later it got deleted by mistake and I tried to log back in and I was told to wait for 72 hours to get back in lo and behold it is 10 days now and I am yet to be logged in. So to me it is not worth it.

“Building the Future of Web3 Social”Farcaster has fundamentally reshaped SocialFi. By taking inspiration from X the long standing hub of Web3 culture it created a space where crypto native users can connect, exchange ideas, and grow communities in a truly Web3 native way. With a polished interface, integrated wallet, seamless transactions, and meaningful airdrops, Farcaster feels like an evolution rather than a copy. It’s not aiming to replace existing platforms it’s defining its own lane. Simply put, Farcaster is setting the benchmark for the next generation of Web3 social apps.

“A Better Way to Do Social on Web3”I’ve been using Farcaster for a bit now, and it genuinely feels different from the typical social platforms. The conversations feel real, the community is active, and there’s this overall “building-first” energy instead of the usual noise. What stands out the most is the sense of ownership your identity and content are truly yours. You’re not locked into a single app; you can take your profile across different clients, which is something traditional platforms just can’t offer. The experience itself is smooth too. Posting is fast, the ecosystem around it keeps improving, and new apps pop up all the time. Farcaster feels like a social network designed for people who want to create, experiment, and explore not just mindlessly scroll.

“This is the Alpha”in Farcaster you own your identity and content, it’s resistant to censorship, and you can use its open architecture to connect across decentralized apps rather than being locked into a single platform
