Farcaster is a decentralized social protocol built on Base that emphasizes user ownership of identity, portable accounts across clients, and an ecosystem of mini-apps and Frames. Praised for its clean interface, genuine community of builders, on-chain wallet integration, and high-signal conversations compared to traditional platforms, it has cultivated a loyal crypto-native audience. However, it faces persistent challenges with user adoption—monthly active users peaked around 80,000 in mid-2024 before collapsing to under 20,000 by late 2025—and struggles to compete with X despite strong technical infrastructure and backing. Concerns include questions about long-term sustainability, moderation controversies, accusations of favoritism, and recent strategic pivots that have raised doubts about the project's core vision.

“On-Chain Twitter”Probably the best decentralized social network. They have been able to stand out between many others and have successfully delivered their roadmap. Built in Base provides them with the advantage of their many users and helps them get exposure to outside communities as well.

“Farcaster feels like old-school Twitter but with actual rewards”I’ve been using Farcaster for a little over a month now, and honestly, I’m loving the vibe. It feels like that classic Twitter era where people made real, genuine posts, no spam, no fake engagement, no AI noise dominating the feed. Plus, the fact that you can actually earn rewards while engaging makes it even better. Real people, real conversations, and real value.

“arcaster Is the Freshest Thing in Social Right Now”Farcaster = the kind of social network we should’ve had years ago.

“overrated as fuck”didn't see a single reason why one should use Farcaster over any other social media. Without their fundraise announcement they wouldn't be able to onboard any real user.

“Farcaster + Base + DEGEN = A Web3 Social Win”My experience with Farcaster has been overwhelmingly positive. It offers a dynamic, lively environment that feels like a real social network, except I have full control over my data. After creating my account, I was able to easily interact with others and when the DEGEN project launched on Farcaster, I actively participated in tasks and conversations and received a substantial reward. It showed me that this platform truly values social engagement. From a technical standpoint, Farcaster delivers a fast, smooth, and low-cost experience thanks to being built on the Base network, which is a big advantage for any Web3 project. Overall, both in terms of user experience and future potential, I see Farcaster as one of the most exciting decentralized platforms out there with plenty of room to grow.

“Decentralized Social Network platform”Serves as a strong and clear voice for the Farcaster ecosystem. Their X account excels at communicating decentralization principles, promoting feature rollouts, and engaging with core users through airdrops and direct interactions. To grow further, they should focus on smoother onboarding, broader appeal beyond crypto circles, and showcasing real‑world developer adoption—while leveraging the strengths they already have.

“For builders”Farcaster is one of the best SocialFi apps out there. It doesn’t just give you the freedom to express yourself, it helps you to build, grow, and create real financial opportunities. With Farcaster, you can connect with people from all over the world, forming meaningful relationships and expanding your network. Personally, I’ve made valuable friendships and unlocked several financial opportunities through Farcaster

“best decentralized social media”menurutku farcaster menjadi contoh terbaik bagaimana sosial media terdesentralisasi di lingkup web3 dibangun. apalagi dibangun diatas jaringan Base yang sangat solid. farcarter harus menjadi tolok ukur sosial media untuk pengguna crypto.
