“Complicated legacy”I’ve followed Frank since the earlier DeGods days, and honestly if you look at my pfp it’s pretty obvious that I liked a lot of what he created and the culture around it. Few NFT communities felt as recognizable or influential at their peak. That said, I also understand why opinions on him became so mixed over time. He’s clearly very good at building attention, creating narratives, and bringing communities together, but a lot of people feel disappointed by the constant pivots, chain moves, shifting priorities, and the way some projects eventually played out for holders. For me, the positive side is real, but so are the criticisms. I don’t think he’s some evil scammer like some people describe him, but I also don’t think every concern from the community came out of nowhere. His impact on NFT culture is undeniable, even if the long-term reputation around it became much more divisive.
