A polarizing Solana NFT founder and trader known for building DeGods and y00ts into major projects, then pivoting to memecoins and chain migrations. Supporters praise sharp trading acumen, early trend-spotting, and genuine care for close circles; critics cite abandoned projects, extraction from communities, insider trading allegations, constant chain-hopping, and broken promises to holders. Reputation deeply divided between those who see a skilled operator and those who view him as a grifter who prioritized personal profit over long-term community value.

“Why the F*ck Does @frankdegods Still Have Nearly 500K Followers in 2026?”Look, I’ve been around crypto Twitter long enough to know hype when I see it, but I genuinely don’t get why @frankdegods still has 452,738 followers (as of right now). The guy is the founder of DeGods yeah, he’s an OG from the 2021 Solana NFT boom but that was five years and a ton of broken promises ago. DeGods launched with massive hype, peaked at insane levels (floor hit 1,999 SOL early on, ETH version ATH around $23k), but today the floor is sitting at roughly 6-7 SOL ($600-700). That’s a brutal wipeout for holders who bought the vision. Multiple chain migrations (Solana → Ethereum → Bitcoin Ordinals and back), controversial royalty changes, and what a lot of the community called straight-up mismanagement turned a cult project into a ghost town. He even stepped down as CEO in May 2025 after admitting the “Frank DeGods” brand was holding the project back. If that’s OG leadership, I’ll pass. So why the half-million followers? It’s pure legacy hype from the DeGods cult days the bullposting, the “empire from our phones” energy, the LA Vape Cabal connections. People followed the founder during the 2021-2022 mania, not because he drops consistent alpha. Fast-forward to 2026 and his feed is almost all low-effort shitposting: vague market vibes like “crash movin like the new murad,” “Feels more like 2021 than 2022,” “thinkin bout how high we go,” or random replies about TON and “40k gems.” Take a look at recent posts one got 707 likes and 47k views, another 634 likes and 53k views. On 452k followers that’s an engagement rate under 0.2%. That’s not influence; that’s a faded audience carrying an old brand. And the memecoin era? This is where it gets shady. He ran a public wallet that pulled $4.4 million PNL trading Solana memecoins, including a reported ~$510k profit on $LIBRA a token that crashed over 90% while insiders allegedly cashed out. He retired that wallet in February 2025 specifically citing “constant scrutiny, accusations of insider trading, and bucket of crabs toxicity.” There’s even an active Ethos bounty right now titled “Prove that FrankDegods dumped memecoins on his followers for a profit.” Whether or not he directly shilled outright rug projects, the pattern of private-group sniping, big personal wins, and community dumps is exactly the kind of “alpha” a lot of us are tired of seeing from big accounts. Then, right after stepping down as CEO, his wallet got “hacked” and sold 16 DeGods NFTs worth ~$19k. Convenient timing, right?Bottom line: This isn’t some high-signal alpha caller or project builder anymore. It’s recycled hype from a 2021 NFT success story that never delivered long-term value, mixed with memecoin trading that raised serious red flags. The follower count is impressive on paper, but the actual content, engagement, and track record don’t back it up. If you’re still following for nostalgia, it’s time to unfollow. Hard pass from me this account adds zero edge in 2026.Biz Brain · 1227· 5mo ago · negative0
