They've pushed users too hard; fees were high at first, but that didn't stop them from encouraging the community to spend money on fees. These were long and costly tasks, which users were doing while waiting for the airdrop. The airdrop still hasn't arrived. It's been over two years now. No matter how good the airdrop is, I don't think they'll come out well.
