From 29 activities · Apr 2026Ink is a DeFi-focused Layer 2 on Ethereum's OP Stack backed by Kraken, known for fast transactions, low gas fees, and smooth bridging. The project emphasizes building in public with transparent documentation, open-source tools, and genuine community engagement rather than hype, though some note the experience still feels incomplete and question differentiation from other L2s. Concerns include the sudden Discord closure post-quests and delayed token launch, but supporters appreciate the strong technical performance, clear team communication, and focus on real utility over speculation.

The project’s native token, $INK, will be launching soon and I believe it has the potential to surprise everyone. What makes inkchain special for me is the strong and capable team behind it. They are always active on Twitter, very community-driven, and clear about their future plans. While many projects make noise without delivering, inkchain feels purposeful, reliable, and ambitious. In my opinion, this could become one of the leading Ethereum L2s, and people should pay more attention before it’s too late.

BlackLight.ink · 1252· 1y ago8“Kraken L2”Ink is developed by kraken as their own flagship chain. Ink ran a guild campaign campaign for few weeks in jan 2025 and there were very less people in it. Only 100k wallets were in ink chain. Ink is now planning to launch a token which will not be a governance token but rather a liquidity provision token.

mowgli 👾🛡️ · 1243· 1y ago6“Inkonchain: Speed Is Rising, But Updates Are Sparse”Inkonchain isn’t the future—it’s happening now! Over the last 14 days, it has averaged 772K transactions per day, hitting 895,686 transactions on August 26, setting a new daily record. Backed by Kraken, this Layer‑2 network is built on the OP Stack + Superchain framework, offering Ethereum-compatible, fast, and low-cost transactions. The speed and performance are impressive. A minor critique: the X platform is only used to share weekly stats. We don’t hear about other exciting updates or developments, and more frequent, engaging updates could boost community excitement. Overall, Inkonchain is growing quickly and looks promising, but communication and community engagement still have room to improve.

Töre · 1253· 1y ago6“inkonchain is Kraken’s Superchain L2, shipping real on-chain tools, airdrop ops, wallets, dev SDKs—not hype, original bu”I use inkonchain because it feels like watching Kraken build in public, not just tweet announcements. they launched the Superchain L2, dropped wallet tools and SDKs via ink-kit, and made a one-click portfolio pack that actually works. They tease token $INK for real use, not hype. airdrop talk feels deliberate, not spam and built for users, not noise. dev docs are detailed, node tools live on github, chain explorer’s open source too.

DevS 🐸.ink π² · 1332· 1y ago6“Ink: Kraken's high-performance L2 bringing institutional-grade DeFi to the masses”Ink has become my go-to Layer 2 for serious DeFi operations since mainnet launch in December 2024. Built on Optimism's OP Stack and backed by Kraken's decade of security expertise, it delivers what other L2s promise but rarely achieve: truly seamless institutional-grade infrastructure with retail accessibility. The performance metrics are impressive—1-second block times with sub-second speeds coming soon, and gas fees that make frequent transactions economically viable. I've moved significant liquidity from Ethereum mainnet to Ink, and the bridging process through Kraken's native infrastructure is smoother than any competitor. No more waiting hours for withdrawals or paying $50+ in gas for simple swaps. What sets Ink apart is the focus on DeFi rather than general-purpose scaling. The ecosystem launched with Aave-powered lending protocols, advanced yield farming, and institutional-grade security features that protect against MEV attacks and malicious exploits. As a Superchain member, assets flow seamlessly between Ink, Base, and other OP Stack chains, creating genuine interoperability. The upcoming INK token distribution through utility-focused airdrops rewards actual platform usage rather than speculative farming. With a fixed 1 billion token supply and no governance theater, the tokenomics prioritize sustainable ecosystem growth over short-term hype. Developer support is exceptional—complete EVM compatibility means porting existing Ethereum contracts requires zero modifications, and the documentation rivals Ethereum's own standards. The team's commitment to open-source development benefits the entire ecosystem. For anyone serious about DeFi efficiency, cross-chain liquidity, or building on proven infrastructure, Ink delivers institutional quality with decentralized principles. Highly recommended for both traders and builders.

What stands out is the emphasis on delivering functional products rather than big promises. The open documentation, public tools, and open-source explorer inspire confidence, while the potential $INK token points to a real use case instead of pure hype. It’s less noise and more substance, which is refreshing in today’s L2 landscape.

MNC ® 🪄🥷 · 1217· 1y ago6“chief milking officer”Absolute farmers. I don’t know what exactly Kraken is trying to achieve here, but what’s obvious is that they’re milking their community for everything they can. The whole setup feels less like a serious L2 and more like a carefully packaged yield farm designed to squeeze as much as possible out of “farmers” before the next phase. And to the farmers, who seem to be some of the most naive, innocent-looking, and overly optimistic people I’ve seen in this space, this won’t make you happy in the long run. You’re being bled for activity, perp dex points, and engagement with the vague promise of something bigger down the line. And the fees on nado will probably wreck you sooner than later. They will milk you dry and then run an ICO. When we finally get an L2 that doesn’t feel like an experiment from an already-established project, whose main objective is to milk users under the cover of “innovation” and “community building,” let me know. Until then, this just looks like another extraction machine dressed up as an ecosystem.

AdeXBT (Rich arc) · 1372· 6mo ago · negative3“Purple chain”I like how they made progress after the quest phase and cut down on the useless noise. The chain’s backed by Kraken, so there’s real support behind it, and they’re aiming to build something that lasts Only thing that bothered me was when they suddenly closed their Discord right after all the quests, it made the whole thing feel unfinished The TGE’s also taking longer than everyone expected, but I’m still watching how it plays out

Wuss · 1254· 1y ago · neutral8“The Kraken's Ink”Betting on Ink early, I like the way they structure the chain overall and feel it could be a serious Layer in the coming years, still nacent, but better be early than sorry. Kraken being an OG exchange, it could prove to be fostering a healthy ecosystem.

Whynotbit · 1338· 12mo ago8“Building a Fast, Secure and Utility Driven DeFi Future”I really like how Ink puts DeFi at the center of everything it’s doing. It feels like a big step forward in terms of speed, security and just the overall user experience. Being built on Ethereum’s OP Stack and part of the Optimism Superchain gives it serious credibility, and it makes transactions super fast and smooth, exactly what you want for DeFi. What I find really interesting is their fixed token supply and liquidity focused INK token approach. It’s clearly more about real use than speculation, which is refreshing in a space where hype can often take over. I also like that they’re tied to Kraken, which adds an extra layer of trust and reliability. The airdrop strategy for early users is smart too. It encourages people to actually use the protocol and participate in liquidity programs, rather than just grabbing tokens to sell later. That’s the kind of adoption that matters. If the infrastructure, ecosystem, and user adoption keep growing, I can totally see Ink becoming a major player in the Web3 world. It’s not just another DeFi project, it’s a platform that seems focused on utility, security, and community, which makes it really exciting to follow.
