Irys is a Layer 1 programmable datachain making data permanent, verifiable, and composable across chains and AI systems through its IrysVM. The project has raised $20 million and built a strong technical foundation with fast uploads, low costs, and developer-friendly infrastructure, earning consistent praise for its innovation in data storage and active community. However, it faces serious credibility issues: a major sybil attack saw 897 interconnected wallets claim ~20% of the airdrop supply, testnet and Galxe participants reported receiving no rewards despite months of participation, and critics allege non-transparent token distribution, unfulfilled promises, and a hard fork of Arweave's codebase without clear community communication—leading many to characterize it as a cash grab or potential rug.

“the layer 1 for data bring new storage culture”Irys makes it easy to store data permanently, offering strong user security through ZK proofs all at a low cost. Unlike traditional blockchains that focus on speed and security but still struggle with high file storage costs, Irys introduces IrysVM, a virtual machine built specifically for datachain storage. It’s designed to solve the problem of expensive on-chain file storage by offering a much more affordable solution.

“understated, but undeniable”Irys doesn’t scream for attention—but the more time you spend with it, the more things click. Their take on data in Web3 is refreshingly practical: store it cheap, verify it fast, keep it composable. No flashy gimmicks, no over-engineering—just clean systems thinking. Uploading feels smooth, querying makes sense, and the design isn’t trying to be clever—it just works. There’s still a sense of “early,” but not in a fragile way. It’s early like a well-drawn blueprint before the walls go up. You can tell there’s depth behind what’s being built. The team and the community keep things chill, but you can feel the signal. Quiet confidence. If they keep this pace, Irys won’t stay under the radar much longer.

“Reliable and Forward-Thinking Project”Irys is an impressive and innovative project that brings real utility to decentralized data. It goes beyond simple storage—offering permanence, programmability, and AI-readiness in a way that feels truly future-focused. The user experience is smooth and intuitive, with strong technical fundamentals backing it up. I’ve found the team responsive, the community active, and the vision clear. Irys solves a key problem in Web3 by making data not just stored, but alive—ready to be verified, connected, and used across applications. Whether you’re a developer or a curious user, Irys is definitely worth exploring. I look forward to seeing how it evolves and plays a critical role in the next generation of decentralized tech.

“Building Something Unique”I firmly believe we need less general-use blockchains and more solution-specific chains. Builders that spot a problem in web3 and lock in to provide a solution. Irys aims to unlock the value of data stored on-chain and this has potential to be massive in web3 as well as web2. Every company, project, tech,... stores and relies on data. Irys aims to handle data in the best way possible. Fast, interoperable, scalable, secure and decentralised. All while also providing the possibility of programmable data to further enhance performance and user experience. Witnessing Irys' growth is beautiful to see.

“a project worth participating in”Irys has launched a well-designed incentivized testnet centered around Galxe and its official website. So far, it seems worth participating in.

“IRYS IS A GOOD TECH”Irys is building solid tech,a datachain that unlocks the value of data, making it easier to share securely and giving people more control over their information. It feels like a smart step toward a more connected, data-driven world. If adopted widely, it could reshape how we think about data ownership, privacy, and collaboration, opening up new opportunities for innovation across industries.

“Irys: A New Era in Data Management”Irys is redefining how we handle data. Unlike traditional blockchains that store data in isolated silos, Irys enables seamless data sharing across AI agents. This interconnected approach allows for more dynamic and responsive AI systems. One standout feature is the Irys Gateway, which ensures smooth data flow between agents. This infrastructure is crucial for real-time applications where data consistency and speed are paramount. Additionally, Irys's dual ledger design offers secure validation and permanent storage, addressing common concerns about data integrity. With impressive performance metrics, including 100k transactions per second on the testnet, Irys is setting new standards in the blockchain space. As the project moves towards its alpha phase, it's exciting to see how Irys will impact the future of decentralized data management.

“Irys , The data storage that makes data programmable”Irys is building the internet storage that stores data forever , also allows this data have logic making them programmable

“Irys gives me hope for a more "honest" Web3”I've been diving into Irys lately, and honestly - it blew my mind. For me, it's not just another blockchain project with big promises, it feels like a real revolution in how we treat data. Think about it: today AI eats up terabytes of information, fake news spreads faster than memes, and we all end up questioning what's real. Irys comes in with something I didn't even know I needed - a "provenance layer" for the internet. It's like giving every piece of data its own passport: who created it, when, why - all verifiable, forever, on-chain. What makes Irys so unique (and what hooked me) is that it's the first programmable datachain. That means data here isn't static - it's alive. With their IrysVM (yes, EVM-compatible), smart contracts can interact with data natively. Imagine NFTs that automatically pay royalties, AI models that can prove they were trained on ethical datasets, or decentralized systems to fight disinformation. This isn't just theory - it already works. And I have to admit, I really love the vibe of their community. Even in their testnet, they made it fun - arcade mini-games (tetris - one love!), quests, artworks.

“the datachain, we needed the most in web 3.0”finally, the first l1 datachain in the world to make your data permanent, verifiable, and programmable. with the power of meta tags, you can not only upload but also easily tag your files, make them accessible, and run simple queries. the team is genius and the community is amazing. it's a great place for vibe coders and builders, as the team is always supportive and empathetic towards builders. great team, great tech, great community. love the vision.

“Irys 是专注 AI 数据的 Layer-1 区块链，存储成本低，IrysVM 性能强。银河任务超好做，签到、答题几分钟搞定，积分高还不卷，870 万美元融资加持，AI+Web3 赛道前景亮眼。不过还在早期，应用落地和空投回报有点不确定”

“Hirys! web3”I recently came across Irys (✧ᴗ✧)’s profile on Ethos, and I have to say - it’s really impressive. Her credibility score = 1378 (Neutral) shows that she’s not a beginner anymore, has already built some reputation, but still has plenty of room to grow .I’ve been part of this project since June, and what really stands out to me is that it feels individual and unique, not just another “grey mass” in the Web3 space. It’s honestly a very cool product - and one that people truly need! I’ve been active in the project, creating lots of different and high-quality content. Together with colleagues, we also organized some collaborations and added creativity in the general voice chat - and thanks to that, people even started talking about us during the AMA! I’m really looking forward to the official launch of this project because I genuinely want to use it.
