From 253 activities · Apr 2026Jesse Pollak is the founder and primary face of Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 built by Coinbase, credited with transforming it into one of the most active and accessible L2 ecosystems through relentless community engagement, daily promotion, and support for builders and creators. His consistent shipping, low fees, and developer-first vision have earned widespread respect, though his backing of creator coins, meme tokens, and projects like Soulja Boy's coin—some of which crashed dramatically or proved to be scams—has drawn significant criticism for recklessness and poor judgment despite apparent good intentions.

This guy loves everyone who builds on the Base network, making builders and contributors feel very appreciated when they try to build a new innovation on the Base network. What I like about Jesse is that he doesn't spread hate to others but tries to embrace them together to build an innovation to the base. Not only in the crypto world, but Jesse also bring in to real world by introducing Base to everyone. It's no surprise that Base is very popular.

Khaycee · 1215· 1y ago9“Based Chad”As a major centralized initiative, Base and its governance model remain under scrutiny regarding decentralization over time. While technical upgrades and messaging are strong, some critics note that early node and tooling metrics are still maturing. Jesse.base.eth stands out as a rare example of founder-level leadership grounded in clarity, technical substance, and ethical execution. His influence over Base’s trajectory—including growth, product design, and messaging—speaks to deep trustworthiness. His reputation is firmly rooted in real-world delivery, not hype.
