Jesse Pollak is the founder and primary face of Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 built by Coinbase, credited with transforming it into one of the most active and accessible L2 ecosystems through relentless community engagement, daily promotion, and support for builders and creators. His consistent shipping, low fees, and developer-first vision have earned widespread respect, though his backing of creator coins, meme tokens, and projects like Soulja Boy's coin—some of which crashed dramatically or proved to be scams—has drawn significant criticism for recklessness and poor judgment despite apparent good intentions.

I've come across many of his posts and discussions, and they consistently reflect a belief in the future of open networks. Building an ecosystem is never easy, but I respect the effort he puts into supporting both developers and communities. It's encouraging to see someone remain optimistic while continuing to build. “A Builder Who Keeps Showing Up”I've seen Jesse consistently support builders, creators, and developers across the Base ecosystem. What stands out to me is that he remains actively involved in conversations rather than staying distant from the community. As Base has grown, he has continued to encourage experimentation and innovation onchain. I respect leaders who stay engaged and help create opportunities for others to build. His energy and long-term commitment have made a positive impression on me.

“He is Base”Jesse didn't just build Base he became the face of it. Daily presence, genuine engagement with builders and users, consistent on-chain activity. The kind of founder who earns trust by showing up, not just announcing things.

“Creator of Base (Coinbase L2), a key Ethereum builder.”The founder and leader of Base, one of the most successful and fastest-growing L2s on Ethereum (from Coinbase). He makes on-chain simple and accessible for ordinary people, building user-friendly products with a focus on users, developers, and real adoption. He has made a significant contribution to the Ethereum ecosystem: he's truly driving scaling, new use cases, and the future of Web3. He's an active builder, an open and positive voice in the industry. One of those truly making crypto better and more accessible to the masses.

“Relentless builder who actually shows up”Jesse comes across as one of the few leaders in this space who backs up words with consistent action. His day‑in, day‑out presence around Base, amplifying builders, engaging with the community, and pushing for real usage instead of empty hype, has been a big part of why Base feels like a living ecosystem rather than just another L2. You can see that he cares about accessibility, culture, and shipping, and that combination of vision plus execution makes him someone I’m genuinely comfortable backing long term.

“Dedicated Builder and Ecosystem Leader”In my opinion, Jesse Pollak is one of the hardest working builders in crypto. His constant engagement with the community, support for creators, and hands on leadership have been key drivers of Base's rapid growth. While not every project he has promoted has succeeded, his commitment to expanding the Ethereum ecosystem and helping builders thrive has been clear. Overall, I see Jesse as a passionate leader who consistently works to push crypto adoption forward.
