My perception changed the more I saw him coming up on my timeline, and what's astonishing is his rate of improvement despite having a full time job in web2. To me this is 100% more impactful than someone that's working in web3 full time As a creator he also stays true to his brand (web3 gaming) & actively plays the games he posts about for fun Your time will come Bolt!!

I remember when everyone thought following FTX that Solana was done for, myself included & it is admirable he pressed on. Today, Solana is a powerhouse (still mostly known for memes but there are a few DePIN projects that are promising as well). His post somehow always hit the nail on the head, they can be culturally relevant or deeply technical & informative. Only qualm is that he likes to dump on ETH alot but game is game.

I personally wasn't with the company at the time but our founder speaks very highly of the program & appreciate all the touchpoints + how the community helps one another out in order to be successful.

Finally, Yat & his team deserve the credit & recognition for their contributions to the network having been around in early days where conference rooms hosted less than 10 people.

On my end, I was too hasty & triggered a slash which I retracted after Alex removed his comments. In hindsight, a slash for a new user is too harsh & a better way to handle it would've been via downvotes / reviews. I'm leaving a positive review because Alex has been very responsive & eager to correct mistakes & am looking forward to seeing more quality reviews from him!

My only gripe is that I wished he was sharing more insights with regards to game mechanics, feedback loops, UA etc on socials more but so far it's pretty clear he's working with a winning team & I'm happy for him.

This model first coined by TapiocaDAO was particularly interesting for their company & is actually a mechanism I believe more teams will adhere to. In a nutshell, you can think of it as an ICO as part of the airdrop. the most aligned users receive the actual tokens while the long tailed users who conduct easy actions receive option tokens which are soul-bound & expire. Users then have a choice to: - exercise their option tokens for normal tokens by purchasing them at a big discount rate of their previous round valuation - burn them - let them expire which actually reflects true skin in the game alignment & provides added data points to the henlo team & all THJ products with regards to their own reputation framework further down the line. Expect more projects to emulate this model.

Newton is their attempt at securing a piece of the pie of the agentic network. The coolest part of Newton's GTM was the refer2earn system facilitated via Kaito but the product in itself was lackluster - it was a glorified DCA bot. I wish there were more initiatives & data documented based on their explosive growth & how much supply their bot helped community DCA into - as well as more news around different agentic tools.

on Newton Labs · 1576· 1y ago · neutral20“If you like web3 gaming, you like Raiden”2024 was massive for Raiden as he received strong support & validation from practically everyone involved in web3 gaming He's not just someone that has a strong voice in this space but from my own thoughts & feedback in the space, what you see on the TL is only the tip of the iceberg. BTS he's a builder that provides heaps of value for other teams, creators even if he doesn't stem to financially benefit (that's not to say he does work for free but you have to value this trait of his)

on Raiden · 1545· 1y ago19“From Pro Gamer to Pro Trader”For better or for worse, Orangie is a public figure you would've seen on your timelines during your time in the trenches (Orangie Memes are pretty iconic) His rise to attention came after the dookie dash event by BAYC where he won a pretty sizeable amount which I suppose got him crypto-pilled into the biggest game of all: Making money. He's currently known for his gated community that has a pretty steep membership fee that's earning him 7 figs a year This is the one thing that's stopping me from leaving a positive review, I've seen private groups before & I think there are many more affordable options - but its like a paid class - I don't want to hate on Orangie if there's a market full of satisfied users. He's running a business & I respect the grind nevertheless.

on orangie · 1424· 1y ago · neutral15“Boldest Title to come out of web3”It's games like OTG that make me believe web3 gaming is possible & as soon as it was available on Epic Games, I have played countless of hours. I hate Battle Royale's & the extraction shooter genre (escape from Tarkov) has never really appealed to me. That said, OTG's mobility & verticality, with the versatility of the limb mechanics was quite unlike any multiplayer game I've played. The voices got annoying after a while but game aside, it is what I believe most web2.5 games should be. A similar UX for both web2 & web3 players, no approvals or signatures. Moreover, if you want to extract from the ecosystem, you have to be a paid user. Piers from Delphi also expanded my mind to the concept web3 could hyperaccelerate BattlePass programs, if cosmetics are scarce. Sure, the tradeoff is juggling an entire economy but I do believe that: > if marketplace maintenance is cheaper + more robust than in web2 > marketplace fees actually generate more fees than purchasing them in a traditional sense > via ownership of items, there are more exclusive items that could be reserved for specific users then whether long term OTG proves to be a success or not, the learnings will be applied to many other titles standing on their shoulders. Net positive for the space (yes despite Node Purchasers being down under etc - trying to see the big picture)
