Legion is a merit-based ICO launchpad that allocates token sales based on on-chain activity, social contributions, and GitHub presence rather than wallet size, earning praise for its fair and transparent approach to democratizing early-stage investment access. The platform has successfully launched projects like Fuel, YieldBasis, and Giza, with many users reporting solid returns and appreciation for the team's mission-driven focus. However, Legion faces persistent criticism for severe infrastructure failures during high-demand sales—website crashes, freezes, and slow support response times have plagued major launches, particularly YieldBasis, leaving users frustrated with transaction failures and unclear allocation distribution; additionally, concerns about scoring opacity, bot activity, KYC delays, and misleading performance metrics have undermined trust despite the platform's innovative concept.

“A merit-based system simply doesn't work in Legion”The platform has 1 function - to conduct sales How can you do it so poorly? After the $YB token sale, Legion outperformed all bad expectations. Pain #1 Oversubscribed at 100x, making it possible only for a hundred people to invest at full allocation, Legion decided to give away smaller allocations to low-quality accounts with an average 400-600 score with Indian/Nigerian/Kenyan/Indonesian KYCs (I am not racist, but that's too obvious that those KYCs are purchased). Q: Why should I care about my score and try to increase it? Pain #2 The load on the platform was expected due to high demand, and could have been prevented if the team had simply improved the infra in time. As a result, you get bad UX: - unable to make a pre-deposit - unable to apply - unable to check the status of your allocation after review - unable to reclaim/refund tokens Q: Do you really think that tier 1 projects will keep choosing you as a launch partner? Pain #3 - Unclear refund/reclaim policy (with the caveat that it may affect your score) - Ineffective user notifications about their allocation status - Partial allocations which should be settled (!) manually (as per replies from mods in Legion Discord) - Totally not responsive UI, which led to hasty and ill-considered decisions to claim a refund via smart contract Legion's token sale concept is great and I truly love it, but unfortunately, it simply doesn't work as it should.Raph · 1253· 1y ago · negative6
