Maybe. But his legal counsel called it the worst agreement they'd ever seen and he signed it anyway. 66 million tokens, shell entity, immediate dump, $38M in damage to holders. Whether it was malice or catastrophic negligence doesn't change what happened to the people who trusted the project. Hard to defend that.

But AERO down from $2.32 ATH to $0.45 today while the protocol generates record revenue tells you something about how the market values governance tokens versus fee-generating products. The Aero merger with Velodrome is the right strategic move. Predictive Allocation replacing weekly gauge voting is the kind of incremental improvement that compounds over time. Strong protocol, waiting on the token to catch up.

The SEC lawsuit fight was real and the outcome mattered for the whole industry. But the political maneuvering — funding candidates, cozying up to Trump administration, buying Echo's podcast back — starts to blur the line between principled advocacy and institutional self-interest. The outcomes are often good for crypto. The motivations are never purely altruistic. Hard to rate him without acknowledging both sides.

Then something shifted — Ink Chain, NinjaTrader, xStocks, perp DEX in development. For a 14-year-old exchange that's a lot of product velocity at once. Don't use it as my main venue but the activation is hard to ignore. The SpaceX IPO sale was a mess though — a lot of users expected participation and got locked out or received no allocation. That kind of fumble on a flagship moment sticks.

But the 2021 meme stock halting incident is the data point I can't shake. When volatility peaks and liquidity gets thin, Robinhood has shown it will restrict access. For passive holding it's fine. For active trading during volatile markets — the platform that stopped GameStop trades is not where I want to be.

The exchange functions, withdrawals process, the liquidity is there. But the governance question never got a clean answer. Who actually controls it? What happens if Sun needs liquidity? These aren't hypothetical concerns, they're the same questions that came up with every exchange that got too close to a single influential figure. Use for access, don't concentrate holdings.

That bimodal split means KAST is excellent for most users and catastrophic for a minority — usually around KYC blocks and account restrictions with no clear explanation. The product itself is genuinely well built — Solana architecture, zero stablecoin conversion fees, instant virtual card. The risk is in the edge cases, and the edge cases are severe when they hit.

Withdrawal went through without issues, KYC was straightforward. Wouldn't call it my primary exchange but it did what I needed. The frozen account stories I've seen from other users are concerning enough to keep it as a backup option rather than a main venue. 3,800+ coins is genuinely useful when you're hunting something obscure.
