Monad is a high-performance EVM-compatible Layer 1 with impressive technical architecture—parallel execution, 10,000 TPS target, and low latency—that has attracted a passionate community and strong funding. However, the project is deeply polarized: supporters praise the tech, speed, and community bonds formed during testnet, while a substantial portion of the community feels betrayed by the airdrop distribution, which heavily favored influencers and external crypto participants over testnet users who spent months testing and providing feedback. The core tension centers on broken trust—many early supporters view the tokenomics as extractive and the community rewards as unfair, with testnet participants receiving minimal allocation despite their contributions, while others remain bullish on the technical foundation and long-term potential.

“Building ETH-compatible L1 & involving community right from beginning”Currently in testnet phase, Monad is buidling a high performing ETH-compatible L1 blockchain. Testnet is superfast and they do promise of offering 10K tps of throughput (via parallel execution & superscalar pipelining) which is impressive. I have used the monad testnet extensively to test various apps that are being built and the way Monad is doing is quite interesting. They are taking their time to build it and they are involving communities, dapps builders, nft community builders.. basically most of the folks who use the ecosystem are engaged right from the beginning.. helping organially building the userbase and also getting constant feedback to build it better. Looking forward to the mainnet & have a feeling this would take off very well.

“Built by Builders, for Builders”The ecosystem is small but full of sharp minds. Anyone exploring scalable blockchain infrastructure should be keeping a close eye on this. It’s the kind of project that grows quietly.

“My favorite L1 project.”Monad is a project that has been mentioned a lot recently, I follow it regularly. Through the launch programs, it has brought many successes, attracting many users. Monad's speed is very surprising in the testnet phase. I hope the project will launch soon, and airdrop to users.

“Super fun community”Im not a tech savvy person, so i wont say much about tech and all. Been part of the community for a year or so, and i get to know a lot, really a lot of people. Making new friends and connections everywhere. As an artist, im building in monad ecosystem as well and the support i got has been amazing. Number one gay cult in web3.

“Another L1 marketing with big words and nothing to show for it.”Monad has been in the works for a long time, and yet nothing. It's still in the testnet phase, so perhaps they can really change some thing, but I don't seen anything unique to them that others don't have. They promise 10k TPS, but that's already done by Solana for example, and even there the need isn't there yet. Most people who defend monad are just there to get a juicy airdrop on TGE and then leave. How can you build a community around a non-existent product? You build that on promises, promises which will most likely not be kept.

“A Disappointing Ecosystem That Lost Its Community Focus”In my view, Monad has become a deeply disappointing ecosystem. Many early supporters who believed in the project from the very beginning now feel let down and ignored. Instead of valuing the community that helped build its initial momentum, the project appears to prioritize short-term, self-interested gains over long-term trust and collaboration. What makes this situation even more frustrating is the lack of meaningful engagement with the people who contributed time, feedback, and support during its early stages. The community feels treated as an afterthought rather than as a core pillar of the network’s growth. I strongly believe that without genuine respect for its users and contributors, no blockchain ecosystem can sustain itself. Without the support and trust of its community, this network risks losing relevance and, eventually, fading away.

“Monad will thrive”Yes, monad didn't reward testnet users, myself included, but that deos not mean yiu should bring emotions into it. Monad has plans and a lot more they still building. Many ecosystem apps have generated a lot of volume. The monad foundation still have a lot of rewards upcoming (if that's what you are after). We'll just have fo stick around and find out

“If you don't know or care about MONAD congratulations, you received an airdrop.”I really think about how much more disgraceful crypto can get every day and it gets worse every day. Thanks Monad and his team, you are disgusting.

“from Monad to Motivation: walking daily with LootGo”Monad has many ecosystem projects and one example is LootGo, a walking app where I can unlock different treasure boxes around the city and earn rewards just by walking. I think it’s a great app, I’ve started walking every day because of it.

“GMONAD”Monad represents one of the most eagerly awaited projects in the crypto ecosystem - a Layer 1 solution that's both technologically advanced and incredibly fast. The entire market seems to be experiencing FOMO around this project, and it's easy to understand why. Whether its airdrop will deliver the anticipated results remains to be seen, but I'm optimistic about the project's future potential. Having explored and tested numerous networks including Aptos, Starknet, and Zksync, I can confidently say that Monad distinguishes itself from the competition. This isn't simply another L1 blockchain - it's a genuine movement in the space. Being part of this journey from the early stages feels like a privilege.

“The Future of High-Performance Layer-1s”I think Monad is one of the projects with huge potential in the blockchain space. It’s designed as an Ethereum-compatible Layer-1, but it really stands out when it comes to speed, security, and low costs. With around 10,000 transactions per second, sub-second finality, and almost zero gas fees, its performance is truly impressive. What excites me the most is its ability to execute transactions in parallel, making the network both fast and efficient. Their custom-built MonadDB system also makes running a node more accessible, while the MonadBFT consensus mechanism provides both speed and strong security. Even though it’s still in the testnet phase, the feedback from the community has been very positive, with many saying it already feels as stable as a mainnet. In my opinion, with the right ecosystem and user adoption, Monad has the potential to become a powerful Layer-1, competing with high-performance networks like Solana while maintaining Ethereum’s familiar structure. In short, Monad is definitely on my radar, and I believe it has what it takes to make a big impact in the near future.

“The funniest cosplays”I don’t think anyone here needs an explanation of what Monad is. If you’re already in Ethos, then you’re definitely not a 0. Honestly, I never really believed in a Monad airdrop just for pure onchain activity. I once ran some stats in my TG how many active days and transactions wallets had and, guys, it was a complete joke. Out of the whole number of wallets, literally only around 10k showed any real activity. So basically, if you’ve got nothing better to do, just grind for two weeks straight and boom you’re in the top 5% of wallets. But the funniest part is the cosplays of the chain’s “main character.” Just hop into their Discord: it’s pure comedy gold. People are literally clowning themselves in every way possible, and it’s impossible not to laugh.
