Monad is a high-performance EVM-compatible Layer 1 with impressive technical architecture—parallel execution, 10,000 TPS target, and low latency—that has attracted a passionate community and strong funding. However, the project is deeply polarized: supporters praise the tech, speed, and community bonds formed during testnet, while a substantial portion of the community feels betrayed by the airdrop distribution, which heavily favored influencers and external crypto participants over testnet users who spent months testing and providing feedback. The core tension centers on broken trust—many early supporters view the tokenomics as extractive and the community rewards as unfair, with testnet participants receiving minimal allocation despite their contributions, while others remain bullish on the technical foundation and long-term potential.

“eagerly awaited”It's the first project I've encountered in the world of Web 3. It has an incredible community. It's easy to integrate, but maintaining it requires consistency. Its promises are impressive, and the testnet is full

“Monad seems to have a tight knitted active community as far as I know. I’d love to see them on mainnet someday.”The Monad NFT ecosystem has a very bullish future and I might be willing to participate.

“extraordinary builders”i believe the monad network team are building something very different and unique, a chain that will make transactions very fast and smooth,

“🚀 Monad Is a High-Performance Bet on the Future of the EVM”Monad is one of the most technically exciting L1s out there—bringing true parallel execution to the EVM with a bold promise of 10,000 TPS. Backed by top-tier investors and gaining strong dev momentum, it’s clear the foundation is serious about scaling Ethereum’s capabilities. Still early, but the architecture is ambitious, and if they execute, Monad could redefine what performance means in the EVM ecosystem.

“A project with big claims”This project makes big claims about scalability and speed, saying they can process 10,000 transactions per second. We have to wait and see whether this claim will actually be realized in the mainnet phase. If it is realized, it could really find a very good place in the market.

“The Purple Chain”Monad’s messaging is clear for those familiar with blockchain tech, emphasizing scalability and decentralization. The page effectively communicates how Monad addresses Ethereum’s limitations, like high gas fees and low throughput, through parallel execution and MonadDB. For casual users, though, the jargon-heavy content could be simplified to broaden appeal. Including more visual explainers or user-focused benefits (e.g., cheaper transactions) would enhance accessibility.

“Monad is layer 1 blockchain. The testnet users higher high. 10k tps was great”

“The Next-Gen Blockchain That's Redefining Speed and Scalability”Monad is setting a new standard for Layer 1 blockchains. By combining full EVM compatibility with groundbreaking parallel execution, Monad delivers blazing-fast transactions — up to 10,000 TPS — without sacrificing decentralization. With its roots in the Solana engineering culture and strong backing from top-tier investors like Dragonfly and Coinbase Ventures, Monad is uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between scalability and security. For developers, it offers a seamless transition from Ethereum, while users can expect lower fees and lightning-speed performance. If you're looking for a blockchain that's truly ready for mass adoption, keep a close eye on Monad — it's not just another L1, it's a game-changer.

“Airdrop expectations vs reality”I followed this project for quite some time because it was strongly positioned as a community-first ecosystem. Naturally, expectations around the airdrop distribution were high among participants who invested both time and resources. However, based on what I observed, the final distribution felt less aligned with those expectations. Some community members, including myself, perceived the allocation as not fully reflecting the level of engagement and effort contributed. While I understand that distribution models can be complex, clearer criteria and communication beforehand might have helped manage expectations better. That said, the project still has room to improve. I hope the team continues refining its approach to community rewards and maintains transparency going forward. With better alignment between messaging and execution, trust from the community could strengthen over time.

“The Real Opportunity in Monad Starts After the Mainnet”Monad is bringing a sense of optimism to the market even in the middle of all this chaos. Just like we saw with Abstract, many users built unrealistic expectations because of the large amount of funding raised. People assumed that minting a testnet NFT or doing a few DeFi interactions would automatically qualify them for massive rewards. The airdrop landscape evolves, and Monad followed the same path: some highly active users were not eligible, while accounts with meaningful volume and real contribution were. I interacted a lot and wasn’t eligible either, but that didn’t discourage me. Now that the mainnet is live, I’m already finding several opportunities. Liquidity pools are paying extremely well, the testnet mints gave me mainnet whitelists, and some free mint projects are performing better than expected. For a brand-new network, Monad is off to a very strong start. I’m still engaging because Monad is opening new opportunities every day, whether in art NFTs, DeFi protocols or future airdrops. It’s not about frustration, it’s about understanding the cycle and continuing to build

“Monad: Technical Ambition Shadowed by Community Missteps”Monad, despite its impressive technical features like parallel execution and fast TPS, has faced significant criticism for its poor community engagement and unfair token distribution. Many early adopters and testnet participants feel overlooked, while spammy users and influencers were rewarded through airdrops. While the project has shown potential, particularly with its EVM compatibility, its lack of focus on a loyal, active community raises doubts. The recent Monad Cards initiative may help shift sentiment, but the project still faces challenges in proving its long term value beyond hype.
