This is something we saw with Luna and the same can happen with Thorchain. When you borrow on Thorchain, they sell your BTC collateral for their own token, RUNE. If you repay your loan, they would need to sell RUNE for BTC to give you back your collateral. This inherently leads to a death spiral opportunity as decrease in RUNE price leads to more people wanting to get their BTC back. More RUNE has to be sold which leads to a decrease in RUNE price. How long can a such a system survive? What happens when we have a full on aggressive bear market? It already happened recently and the next one can kill the entire thing. I used to be a true believe in Rune but I've pivoted away from it now that I fully understand how it works and all the risks associated it with.

Bitcoin wasn't initially built for this kind of product and Ethereum is already covering all of this, so it's pointless to try and change Bitcoin. However, there's a huge untapped potential there if things do change. Stacks is one of the very first to see this potential.
