Pudgy Penguins is a pioneering NFT collection that evolved into a global consumer brand, bridging Web3 and mainstream markets through physical toys in Walmart, strategic retail partnerships, and cultural collaborations. Known for strong branding, consistent execution, and a deeply loyal community, the project survived early leadership challenges and was revitalized under Luca Netz, who expanded it beyond digital art into merchandise, games, the $PENGU token, and the Abstract L2 blockchain. Praised for generous airdrops, authentic community-first values, and rare durability across market cycles, it stands as one of the most successful and recognizable IP projects in crypto.

“One of the best brands in crypto”

“Pudgy Penguins NFT project,”Its cute art and community focus, dubbed “The Huddle,” drew celebrity collectors like Steph Curry and media coverage from The New York Times. However, the project plummeted due to serious controversies under co-founder ColeThereum, including allegations of fund mismanagement, a failed airdrop, and his admitted history of paid shilling and a dubious drop shipping business.

“more than just cute Penguins”Pudgy Penguins isn’t only about funny pics - the team keeps pushing real adoption. Toys in stores, strong brand building, and a community that actually feels welcoming. It’s one of the few NFT projects that shows staying power and a clear direction. I love these cool Penguins :)

“From NFT to Cultural Phenomenon”Pudgy Penguins is one of the few Web3 projects that managed to recover from a massive token price drop and come back stronger than ever. What started as a simple PFP NFT collection has evolved into a recognizable brand with physical toys in major stores, viral content, and a growing global community. Today, Pudgy Penguins successfully connects Web3 and mainstream audiences through collectible NFTs, real-world products, and media presence. It’s not just about digital art anymore – the brand has become a cultural symbol with real utility and visibility outside the crypto space. What truly stands out is how the team revived a struggling NFT collection and turned it into a thriving ecosystem loved by both the crypto community and casual users alike. Huge respect to the team

“Strongest IP in Web3”Pudgy penguins are the mascots of NFT's and crypto after the decline of apes. From their retail presence to their cute gifs about almost everything. Luca took a risk and made it happen.

“My First NFT love”Pungy Penguins is one of those NFT projects that stands out for all the right reasons, not just because of the art, but because of the community energy and momentum behind it. The team clearly understands the culture of Web3, blending fun, creativity, and utility in a way that feels both organic and engaging. There's a real sense of belonging among holders, and it’s obvious that the project is just getting started. With consistent updates, strong vibes, and a growing ecosystem, I’m personally bullish on where Pungy Penguins is headed. It’s more than a PFP, it’s a movement with serious staying power. 🐧✨

“One of blue chip NFT projects”Pudgy survived through many storms, love it or hate it and they delivered on many promises even with years passing we got token, NFT are still trading and I think there are many more things in plan for pudgy. I will be looking but I do think they were big for web3 once they came out and still delivering.

Under new leadership, they’ve turned setbacks into momentum landing toys and merch in Walmart, building a vibrant game world, and even rewarding holders with a successful memecoin.
