They managed to build a powerful community, and during the peak of memcoin mania, their presence was felt literally everywhere. Just as Vitalik Buterin changed his avatar to Milady, leaders in the Solana ecosystem - including Mert - also switched to PFP from these NFTs en masse, which emphasizes the cultural significance of the project. Now the situation has changed - the token price has dropped by more than 90% from its peak, and the official X page is currently blocked, which is probably an important signal of a decline in activity. I had a chance to talk to the team earlier, and they had a lot of creative ideas for developing value for owners. I'm not sure how well they've managed to implement it, but the fact that they tried to create a business based on a meme deserves respect. It's not easy, especially when it comes to effective trader management.

“The Fall of retardiosolana”I used to follow retardiosolana back when it was still active, and honestly it always felt like one of those loud, chaotic meme-driven projects that lived off hype. The mix of Solana memes, NFTs, and wild branding made it entertaining at times, but you could also tell it carried a lot of risk. The name itself and the way they leaned into edgy humor made it stand out, though not always in a positive way. Now that the account’s been suspended, it doesn’t come as a total surprise. Between the regulatory warnings, the unprofessional responses, and the lack of transparency around who was actually behind the project, the red flags were stacking up. It was fun to watch for a while, but in hindsight it was clear they weren’t taking compliance or credibility seriously. For me, it’s kind of a reminder of how fragile meme-driven projects in crypto can be. They can create a lot of noise and attention really quickly, but without structure, transparency, and some level of professionalism, it doesn’t take much for the whole thing to collapse or in this case, get wiped off X completely.

They are always active in raiding the timeline and shilling their bags in ways that will leave you speechless. More than these they have very cool systems of reward for the holders of the PFPs and the Coin, from seasonal airdrops of newly launched coins to being whitelisted to other PFP projects amongst others. They have a cultlike following, if you want to do crypto in an exciting way you should be a cousin. Retar dio.
