It is built by Silvio Micali (a guy who won a Turing Award by the way), and it is fast, has low fees, and it also uses a Proof of Stake model like Ethereum. I also find it interesting and I think it brings a certain kind of credibility to it that it has survived multiple market cycles. That being said, the eco has been quiet though. Unlike other L1 giants like Ethereum and Solana, Algorand has struggled to attract developers and users. Impressive architecture, I'll admit, but what's the point of building a beautiful house if no one lives there? lol. Maybe it will have its breakout moment one day, maybe not. For now, I'll just stay neutral on it.

They recently did their TGE which is cool. However, in stark contrast to perp dex giants like Hyperliquid and Lighter, Aster UX really really sucks. You are literally asked to sign and connect wallet every single time you refresh or open the website. That alone pisses me off so bad I didnt even bother to deposit money there. They however have a very solid backing and their token is doing well right now, so i believe they will get better with time.

Swaps, perps, farming, everything runs through a very clean interface that's usable by even beginners. Plus no KYC, and easy way to move across chains without friction. Also they have added support for AI trading assistant, so surely they are not just some hype chasing project. All in all, Defi App remains one of the most interesting app in Web3 right now. The only issue I had with them was when they abruptly delayed investors unlock by 12 months, just few days before TGE. But they made up for that error by increasing each investor's amount by 20%, so that's fair, I believe. Disclaimer: I invested in their seed round.
