I don't know what motivated him to create a social reputation platform with an ingenious on-chain system like Ethos (perhaps bad past experiences with crypto projects, or simply an excellent idea put into practice) but one thing is certain: Ethos is undoubtedly a very good project with undeniable utility for both experienced researchers and beginners venturing into the world of cryptocurrencies. At the time (2021), we had no reliable way of knowing if an influencer or a project was truly trustworthy. Today, simply being present on Ethos is enough to know the social reputation of a specific profile, thanks to hundreds/thousands of detailed reviews from users of the platform. Previously, the SocialFi wave was flooded with projects that incentivized users to only speak positively about their partner projects in order to earn money. The result: a lack of objectivity in participants' posts and the promotion of often substandard projects. I'm not even talking about the projects that secretly run six-figure partnership campaigns with major crypto influencers on X in order to make as much money as possible off the backs of naive communities who are completely unaware of these dishonest practices, which have unfortunately become the norm... It is for these kinds of reasons (and many others) that we need a project like Ethos because it allows us to value the actors who deserve it as well as to highlight the dishonest actors who harm our ecosystem. Thank you for the work done so far. We will be there to witness what happens next.
