A 12-year product leader with experience at Atlassian, HouseCallPro, and as an early hire at Message.io (YC W16), he brings deep expertise in product, security, identity verification, and fraud prevention. Known for hands-on community engagement, transparent communication, and uncompromising commitment to building trust through economic incentives and measurable reputation—he actively vouches for credible users, slashes bad actors with evidence, and iterates on Ethos mechanics based on real user behavior. Consistently praised for his work ethic, accessibility despite being CEO, and vision of making crypto more human-centered and trustworthy.

What Serpin is doing with Ethos stands out. It feels human-centered and trust-driven, exactly the kind of leadership Web3 needs to move toward a more credible ecosystem.

Especially in Web 3, where everything revolves around money and investment, building trust and authenticity is paramount. And I believe Serpin built Ethos for this, because trust and security will become increasingly important because we are all human.

He is focused on creating systems that improve transparency trust, and accountability in crypto through decentralized on-chain reputation. By highlighting genuine builders and meaningful projects he is helping raise the bar for the entire ecosystem. Web3 definitely benefits from leaders who build with this vision.

I’m truly inspired by what one person with a single idea can achieve, and at the same time it’s clear he’s just a crypto guy like us - an interesting combination. I remember how at the very beginning I joined Ethos and tried to ask for a key, but in the end I got a pleasant conversation, ah those were the days

Valhist · 1735· 11mo ago39“Definitely one of the standout builders of this cycle”I really like his approach on this platform. He is the kind of founder who is truly hands-on with what he is building. I appreciate how he creates apps on top of X to make Crypto Twitter and even the broader crypto space a safer place for everyone.

Chikao | ETHGas ⛽ · 1456· 1y ago39“Transparent, Feedback-Driven Founder Who Actually Ships”Not personally acquainted - this take is based on their public activity and the community’s reviews. A consistent pattern shows up: they engage openly (AMAs/spaces, Discord threads), ask for feedback, and fold it into visible product changes. That’s the kind of founder energy the space needs: less performance, more iteration. The product focus - Ethos as a SocialFi/reputation layer - feels grounded rather than hypey. I like the direction of using an Elo-style ranking and pushing for verifiable, receipt-backed reviews instead of empty vouches. Multiple reviewers cite the same behaviors: transparency, steady presence, connecting people, and raising the bar on quality while keeping the door open to critique. Importantly, the posture is values-first. They call things as they are, avoid “just be loud” incentives, and keep shipping. Whether you view Ethos as a tool for builders, analysts, or communities, the execution shows a bias toward clarity: clearer standards, tighter feedback loops, and features that reward real signal. Bottom line: an engaged founder with a real product, a strong reputation, and a public track record of learning in the open. Worth following as the system matures—especially if you care about accountable social graphs, not just attention. Thanks for pointing out my earlier mistake - the reviews here should be extended. Appreciate the nudge.
