Muaz Varol · 1149· 10mo ago5“Guarding the Glass Eel: The Ecological Mission of the Hudson River Eel Project”The Hudson River Eel Project is an impressive citizen science project that has successfully monitored the population of glass eels in the Hudson River and its tributaries through the collaboration of volunteers, students, and scientists since 2008. The project not only provides key data for the population management of American eels, but its data has also been included in the assessment report of the Atlantic State Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC), demonstrating its scientific rigor. By using standardized protocols and training, the project ensured the reliability of data and attracted approximately 1000 volunteers to participate, enhancing the community's attention and sense of belonging to the ecological environment. In addition, the project has also achieved significant results in education, especially in urban areas such as Poughkeepsie, helping students establish connections with nature and promote environmental behavior. Despite the challenge of declining eel populations, project data shows a slow upward trend, demonstrating the enormous potential of citizen science in ecological conservation.

Thethemit · 1212· 8mo ago0“Eels amazing founder”My introduction to eel was through Blast farming and his project, "New Blast City." It was immediately clear he stands apart from the typical "founder." He consistently shares valuable alpha, radiates positive energy, and creates real opportunities for his community. He is genuinely one of the few good souls left in this space.
