Udi Wertheimer

A polarizing Bitcoin developer and co-founder of Taproot Wizards known for sharp, witty commentary on Ordinals and on-chain innovation. Supporters praise his technical depth, bold contrarian takes, and ability to challenge Bitcoin maximalism and crypto tribalism with humor and insight. Critics accuse him of extracting millions through hyped mint campaigns (Quantum Cats, Taproot Wizards) with minimal delivery, fuding the protocols he launched on, and using controversy for attention—a pattern some compare to other known grifters in the space. A slash on Ethos and repeated allegations of unfulfilled promises complicate an otherwise influential presence in Bitcoin culture.
