“No real tech behind it, just another Solana ponzi”Throughout recent years, we have seen several PoW (Proof of Work) ponzis on Solana of different quality, from low ones to fairly sophisticated projects, some of which even attracted investment (like Ore). But the main problem with all of these projects & their tokens is that they have no real utility. While their gamified side is often well designed, with all mechanics explained in the docs, the utility of the mined tokens is either poorly explained or not explained at all. Zinc states that it is a "private Proof-of-Work mining protocol on Solana." But what is the actual utility of the Zinc token? Why should users beyond the project buy & use it? Unfortunately, I haven't seen a clear answer anywhere. The token is still alive due to buybacks generated by miners who throw in money, but when that decreases or disappears, the price would drop significantly. Just like Ore did ($300M market cap -> $10M market cap, with a recent bounce to $40M market cap, though in my opinion that's temporary). I would suggest staying away from projects like this unless you are a miner & know exactly what you are doing.

“Might be a thing”In crypto, we already have DeFi, DePIN, DeRWA & DeAI, but DeSci is something new & to be honest, it might be very promising. It has always been hard for scientists & researchers to get funding for their activities & Bio Protocol solves this problem by creating a financial layer for funding & developing early stage modern science startups/products. Basically, its core goal is to help scientists raise funds for their research & reward those who supported it. Will keep an eye on this one. Very promising concept & idea. Let’s see how it goes further!

“Great friend of mine in Web3 space”Met this bro on a fan Abstract Discord server. After the first conversation he made a great impression on me as a very smart crypto guy, irl business man & just a very good person & as we continued our communication all of this came out to be absolutely true. Gerc (aka Danya) is very dedicated to Web3 & Abstract especially. He really enjoys doing what he does. His X has a lot of great content on Abstract, his achievements in Duper & Pirate Nation Arcade (he is a GOAT player in both games & helped me a lot with Pirates, extremely grateful to him for this). Gerc is not only Abstract power user, but also a true ETH believer & maxi. That's very cool when a person strongly believes in what he does in crypto. And also I think this says a lot about Gerc & his personality. Big success awaits this bro in the future!

“W DeFi on Base”Aerodrome has established itself as the main DeFi app on Base, with seamless swaps, almost all possible token pairs & the ability to easily launch a liquidity pool (or join an already created one). Protocol operates as a zero-leak economy meaning 100% of the revenue it generates is distributed to the participants who power it (people who provide liquidity). They also plan to merge with Velodrome (the leading DEX on Optimism) to become Aero (the unified liquidity layer for all Ethereum L2s). The Aerodrome token (AERO) has actual utility within the protocol, which makes it useful, not just something used to cash in on retail users. Combining all of these, we get a really great product!

“Crypto journalism at its finest”Camila Russo is the founder of The Defiant - one of the biggest, if not the biggest, sources of DeFi news across all of Web3. She also wrote a book - The Infinite Machine (covering complex history of Ethereum). It is actually real journalism, not an attempt to shill bags, sell trash promotions, etc. They remain unbiased & independent from any kind of influence, which is a big W in our space. News media actually covering the news, not trying to abuse it. Camila deserves respect for being an honest crypto journalist, establishing & running such a great product.

“One of the biggest grifters in this space, not even trying to hide it”Sahil is a notorious rugger who played a main role in launching numerous celebrity tokens in 2024. He did so both with & without permission, using the names of famous people for personal gain. After becoming infamous, Sahil showed no signs of regret, instead flexing his luxurious lifestyle & showing off his profits. Before the celebrity memecoin meta, he also launched several crypto projects that also rugged. The main question for me is - why isn’t he in prison yet?

“W DeFi builders”PancakeSwap was the first major DeFi platform on BSC (& remains till this day), facilitating access to liquidity provision, yield farming & staking. Later, it expanded to other chains - Ethereum, Aptos, zkSync, Arbitrum, Linea, Solana, opBNB, Monad & now Robinhood Chain. For me, PancakeSwap carried the 2021 BSC memecoin era. One of the most pleasant DeFi DEX experiences ever. To this day, it has maintained a record of zero hacks/exploits since 2020, continued to build & demonstrated the reliability of its product. Alongside Uniswap, PancakeSwap is one of the golden pillars of DeFi, no doubt.

“Reliable CEX”Kraken is one of the most reliable CEXs out there. No hacks have occurred, W security, regular proof-of-reserves updates, licensed or registered across multiple jurisdictions (including the EU & UK) & good fiat infrastructure (EUR/USD). One issue worth pointing out is that the fees are currently quite high for small users. But on the other hand, you pay them for a fast, reliable experience & the security of your funds. And if you aren’t a day-to-day trader, you are unlikely to notice them. I would put this CEX alongside Coinbase, OKX & Bybit. Great for the average retail user!

“Cautiously optimistic”Robinhood gave easy access to stocks & later crypto to a lot of Americans. As an app for retail it really facilitates acess to markets. Still let’s not forget that they were the ones who restricted $GME trading to stop hedge funds from bleeding. The stock price dumped & retail got rekt instead. Their new fancy chain was initially introduced as an RWA blockchain for tokenized stocks, but barely anyone paid attention, as we already have Solana & most RWAs are there. Then $CASHCAT hopped in & other coins followed. Rn, it is mostly just another memecoin/NFT chain. We have already seen many things in crypto backed by something big but fading over time nevertheless - NFTs on BTC, memecoins on TRX, etc. We don’t need another memecoin chain with NFTs, but rather something new & innovative. I remain cautiously optimistic about this new L2 (& Robinhood overall) since its backers are strong, but only time will tell whether it succeeds. It is also pretty hard to have a strongly positive opinion of Robinhood, considering some of its past actions (especially with $GME). Still, there isn’t a single project in this space without drawbacks. But yeah, they have already shown that they will care about the big guys first, not retail investors (us).

“Great Duper coach, player & streamer”For the first time I met yyvvoo (aka Yarik) on my stream when he raided me & wrote some jokes in chat. I instantly admired his sense of humor & thought "Wow, I should make a stream collab with this guy." On my next stream we were chatting in discord & I enjoyed this a lot. After that, we began to stream almost all the time together. Yyvvoo also offered to coach me in Duper absolutely for free, just for the sake of content on streams, & has been helping me for more than a month with the game. Extreamly grateful to him for this! He is a great person & always ready to help others without asking anything in exchange. Also, yyvvoo is a highly skilled Duper player who is among the top 10 in the game leaderboard with plenty of wins in in-game tournaments. To sum up, yyvvoo (aka Yarik) is a great person, Duper player & Abstract power user!

“Great crypto neobank, but worth mentioning the red flags”Tria Card itself is great: - Earn up to 6% cashback (determined by tiers that unlock based on your volume) - 200+ blockchains supported, so you can easily top up your card - Works in 150+ countries - 500k+ users, $100M+ processed in four months - A lot of positive reviews from people who use it every day Still, a few red flags are worth mentioning: - Shady airdrop distribution. Real users/supporters got peanuts. This undermines trust in the team/product. We can see the results of such actions through a feed full of negative reviews - Worked with scam KOLs who were exposed for their deeds & even reposted them Leaving a neutral review. Considering the red flags, my trust factor isn’t that high. That’s not how you build trust within your project.
