Virtuals Protocol pioneered tokenized AI agents on Base, creating a launchpad where users can co-own autonomous agents that generate income across games, social media, and blockchain. The platform introduced the Initial Agent Offering (IAO) model, Agent Commerce Protocol (ACP), and GAME framework, enabling agents to trade, interact, and earn on-chain. While early participants captured significant gains and the ecosystem launched thousands of agents including notable ones like AIXBT, the project has faced criticism around token mechanics, agent quality variance, and sustainability beyond initial hype cycles. The team continues shipping features and expanding to Solana despite market volatility, though some question whether the underlying agent autonomy and utility match the infrastructure's ambitions.

“Revolutionist”Virtual has changed many things in Web3. I'm unsure if there is a permissionless launchpad before it, but it was the most successful one and the first famous one. As far as I remember, the current Virgen Point system was not deployed in the first stage. So, the opportunities on Virtual were more like FCFS, right? Please, tell me if I'm wrong. And then, the Virgen Point system created a new meta for early-stage investment. Traditional launchpads push users to make a static investment and take a risk on their native tokens. Additionally, they started to impose really long lock periods. On the other hand, crypto has transformed into an untrustworthy market more than ever. So, the long lock periods and ridiculous vesting of traditional launchpads for copy-and-paste projects became the worst investment decision ever. At this time, Virtuals' no-upfront-investment, no-lock-up (thanks to social media points) investment opportunities became the new king of the ecosystem. I have to tell you; Virtual also has many problems, like zero sustainability of 99% of projects, whales' domination on each sale, etc. but still, it provides an opportunity to small wallets. Especially after the launch of the blonde devil's scam token and its impact on the market. Unfortunately, I couldn't capitalize on the AI Agent hype and didn't achieve a sufficient profit from Virtual launches. Still, I have a little bag on their stake pools that I locked for two years. Tbh, I'm not sure about the status of Virtual two years later, but I was sure I could get ROI from launches on their platform. That must be the equation for all launchpads. Virtual has lost momentum, but it is still sailing the ship. Certainly, it will provide massive opportunities to its users, and it is already continuing to offer minor opportunities.nXi.researcher · 1268· 1y ago13
