“Shame that they abandoned their orderbook”In my opinion, the key differentiator of Sei was their fully onchain orderbook DEX, which was deprecated last year. They have since been building, notably moving away from Cosmos with SeiEVM, however without the orderbook, I don't see what stops it from being just another ghost EVM L1. That being said, they have managed to stay relevant and keep some mindshare and interest in their token, so their team does deserve praise for digging the project out of the doldrums. This was no trivial task, especially given their lacklustre airdrop, which many people didn't claim as the friction of importing their wallet into Compass just to claim (what was then) peanuts wasn't worth it.

“Fame and Greed Corrupt”His initial spaces on SBF/FTX that gave him his notoriety were very good and showed the potential of Twitter journalism. However, fame seems to have gotten to him as he's pivoted to whatever pays the most. His crypto spaces are out of touch eco chambers of irrelevant accounts and opportunistic shillers and his war spaces are sensationalised one-sided propaganda. A little part of my brain dies every time there is big breaking news and I have to listen to his space until other outlets catch on.

“Binance Alpha Scammers”Owlto has always been an atrocious bridge with low maximum bridge limits and extortionate fees that only had any volume during the 2023 L2 meta. After 3 years of grifting fees, they decide to do a 3% airdrop and 7% to CEX users who have never used the product. Not only that, but the vast majority of users aren't even eligible for the 3%, after spending 3 figs on fees. Any project that does CEX airdrops is instantly exposed as a scam. “No hype market leader that popularised intents”Solid, dependable intents bridge that has maintained its market position, despite TGEing years ago and thus having little/no incentives. Given that many users will choose inferior quotes from Stargate (LZ), Mayan (Wormhole) and Relay to farm potential airdrops, it is incredibly impressive that Across is still the clear leader in terms of LIFI txns and volume over the last 12 months.

“Changed EVM UX forever”Hands down the best EVM wallet ever made. Hats off to DeBank for integrating protocols so quickly — I feel completely blind when using other EVM wallets. Being able to revoke approvals, as well as claim rewards and view vests all from an extension or mobile app is mile’s ahead of MM and Rainbow. The in-app browser is also my go to for signing txns when I’m afk. The only feature that I don’t think is up to scratch is the Polymarket integration which just opens up the website in the browser.

“The best community in DeFi”I have been a long time listener of the excellent Modern Market podcast -- by far the highest signal:noise crypto/financial markets podcast out there -- but I want to focus this review on the community. Over the past week, all of my wallets were banned from Hyperliquid, Opensea, CEXs and many other platforms simply because I unwittingly used HTX in the days following a UK sanction against them on May 26th 2026, which I was unaware of. “Wasted Potential”I played a demo of Shrapnel at Consensus 2023 and it genuinely felt like a AAA game. Shrapnel looked poised to be a darling of Avalanche and put the chain on the map for gaming. Fast forward 2 years and they don't seem to have progressed in any meaningful way. Their token is down horrendously and they have opted to pivot away from the chain that supported them from the beginning, to Gala -- a dead chain known to be a graveyard for scam web3 games.
