Agentzoro⚔️ · 1278· 1y ago · negative24“game over”When the project first launched, it promised a lot. The game’s graphics were impressive and gave me a good feeling. However, that was a long time ago; now their performance is quite disappointing. The token values dropped sharply, and they chose to abandon the original chain they supported from the start, moving instead to Gala a chain known for its poor reputation and low quality. This decision ultimately led to the project’s downfall. The game is completely over, and ShrapneL’s situation is now dire.

Tuncay · 1257· 1y ago · negative18“Had promise but obviously fail now”The project had a lot of promise in beginning when founded. That was years ago, now it's pretty average and slow rug pull for sure. Apparently claiming to be only available to China and backed by Chinese gov't but feels wrong.

0ne · 1483· 1y ago · negative18“Slow RUG”The Web3 component, which was a major selling point, is the biggest disappointment. The tokenomics are unclear, and the in-game economy is virtually nonexistent. The marketplace is dead, and the SHRAP tokens and NFTs don't provide any meaningful incentives. It's a classic case of blockchain for the sake of blockchain, and it leaves the impression that the game is a cash grab hiding behind a slick veneer. Serious concerns have emerged that the team may be orchestrating a "slow rug pull" by prioritizing their tokens over genuine project development and community engagement. Despite launching on the Avalanche network with a significant marketing budget and financial backing, development efforts appear to have stalled. Furthermore, the recent announcement of their move from the Avalanche network to Gala was promoted through a non-transparent, organized campaign involving dozens of influencers who shared identical content. This approach has completely shattered the community's trust in the team. https://x.com/zachxbt/status/1950902593456091231

Rick Coin Doctor · 1512· 1y ago · negative18“Big plans but poor implementation”I found out about the project in 2023, as far as I remember, and there was a lot of hype about it. However, after several bad decisions, the project no longer looked promising and became a simple average.

Soothsayer · 1411· 1y ago · negative17“Wasted Potential”I played a demo of Shrapnel at Consensus 2023 and it genuinely felt like a AAA game. Shrapnel looked poised to be a darling of Avalanche and put the chain on the map for gaming. Fast forward 2 years and they don't seem to have progressed in any meaningful way. Their token is down horrendously and they have opted to pivot away from the chain that supported them from the beginning, to Gala -- a dead chain known to be a graveyard for scam web3 games. Jauwn has made an excellent long form video on Gala on Youtube https://youtu.be/mzVj5ID9K88?si=PSVoA8PCROLIhWyL

MNC ® 🪄🥷 · 1217· 1y ago · negative19“once hyped now gives rugged feeling?”Shrapnel was one of the FPS game which was shilled by lots of KOLs last year. It was compared against OTG, CS, COD, Apex and others. Their token made more than a $1b in FDV. That was the time when they started selling nodes over the counter in their discord Radon. Nodes were sold in VC groups for $250 and over OTC in Radon group for $2k. which made it pretty high FDV. They sold it with a narrative that there will be revenue sharing coming up with those nodes. However, soon the token dumped and news came up that there were disputes within the team. Almost a year and token is now sold at FDV of $16m. Node holders were never given the node rather, twhich have significanly dumped. To summarise, Shrapnel is one of the perfect example of how big KOLs and team with funding rug the public by selling tokens at a high FDV and selling nodes without announcing OTC in Radon discord. Not saying that they do not have a game. They do post clips and stuff every now and then but with the current meta around gaming studios shuting down (like midnight society, tatsumaki and others), it won't be a surprise hearing similar news from them soon.

Crypto Degen · 1324· 1y ago · negative19“dead game”It’s a dead game. No one’s gonna play it, simply because there’s no one left in the market. Even if the graphics or the concept are decent, what’s the point if it’s just empty inside. Feels like they made the project just to say they did, no real momentum, no community, nothing’s moving. You log in and it’s like walking into a lobby filled with echo and cobwebs.

MNC ® 🪄🥷 · 1217· 1y ago · neutral17
MNC ® 🪄🥷 · 1217· 1y ago · neutral17“From AAA hopes to blockchain heartbreak”Shrapnel had all the right ingredients: AAA visuals, major backing, and early hype. But now it feels like a textbook example of how not to do Web3 gaming. The economy is broken, token utility is a joke, and community trust is gone. Their recent switch from Avalanche to Gala a chain with a reputation for hosting failed projects was rolled out via a shady influencer campaign that insulted everyone’s intelligence. Combine that with stalled development, unpaid debts, and internal token dumps, and it’s hard not to see this as a slow rug. There was real potential. Now, just disappointment.
