“Patron of the Arts”I have to thank Cozomo for being one of the first people to expose me to the amazing world of digital art, specifically art NFTs. Back in the 2021/22 NFT heyday Cozomo was what now is known as a KOL and he promoted so many amazing artists and pieces. I particularly enjoyed the many photography pieces he collected and promoted.

“OG and institution in the NFT space”I think anyone who is active in the NFT space and hasn't discovered Cozomo de'Medici yet has probably taken a completely wrong turn. Not least, he supports young artists and has one of the greatest collections of digital art you can imagine. If you enjoy digital art, you can't ignore Cozomo.

Not only has Cozomo collected some of the most prestigious and valuable NFTs in the space, but he has also been a dedicated supporter of emerging artists. For the past few years, each week he has consistently added several works to the Medici Emerging Collection, a curated selection that highlights rising talent in the digital art world. His commitment to discovering and uplifting fresh voices is one of the things that makes him truly special. It’s not just about owning great art, it’s about fostering the next generation of creators. I’m proud to say that two of my works are part of this collection, and it means a lot to be recognised by someone who has done so much for the community. Generosity & Donations: Aside from many documented giveaways of art and prizes on X, the most notable was the first and largest private collection of blockchain artworks to a Museum: In February 2023, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) announced it had accepted 22 digital artworks from Cozomo de’ Medici. They described the gift as "the first and largest collection of artworks minted on blockchain to enter an American art museum." Top Tier Content: His weekly newsletter Medici Minutes is a great read, packed with the finest research and insights about the evolving world of digital arts, artist spotlights and his personal collecting journey. Cozomo also shares great nuggets of wisdom, art history and of course art on his X account. He's also been known to partake in some exceptional trolling! :) Unquestionable integrity: I remember back in early 2022, as a display of trustworthiness, he launched 'Project Nothing'. He invited followers to send ETH to a wallet with the explicit promise of absolutely nothing in return. No perks, no rewards, just a social experiment built on trust. True to his word, he later refunded all 64.6 ETH to every participant, proving his transparency and reliability in a space often plagued by speculation and rug pulls. But he didn’t stop there. That same 64.6 ETH became the investment fund for the Medici Emerging Collection, reinforcing his commitment to uplifting new artists and ensuring their work gets the recognition it deserves. It was a perfect example of who Cozomo is—someone who not only talks the talk but follows through in ways that truly impact the art community.

“A true patron of digital renaissance”Cozomo de’ Medici isn’t just collecting, he’s canon-building and that since a very long time. There are only a few voices that are able to blend cultural depth, meme fluency, and genuine collector instincts like he does. While others chase floor prices, Cozomo chases legacy. Which one does feel in his posts and newsletter. The Art Tank, his weekly medium to curate emerging artists, is more than a flex; it’s infrastructure for the next century of art. In a space flooded with noise, his curation is signal. And behind the theatrics lies an eye (or several, since his Team is doing the curation) sharper than most museum boards. This is expanded through his own newsletter - the Medici Minute - in which he writes about the digital artspace as well as current debates. Always with a write up of his own thoughts. In my eyes, Cozomo de' Medici is one of the few essential follows, if you want to dive into digital art/NFT-art.
