“Intended as a gamified NFT platform, it ignored rug pulls—from NFT game sales to zero incentives.”Most people didn’t catch on, but DOSI was essentially a DeFi platform for $FNSA, using an NFT called “Citizen.” Higher-tier NFTs regularly dished out more cash, which only fueled people’s greed to invest even bigger sums, eventually sparking an ongoing clash between the project’s operators and whale farmers—with legal battles looming on the horizon. What really grabs my attention is the GAME DOSI project. They leveraged LINE NEXT’s name to roll out roadmaps for various gaming projects and NFT drops. Even though few buyers were genuine gamers, those lured in by DOSI’s incentives snapped up vast amounts of NFT assets. Despite raising $140M via an NFT marketplace, the incentive model was promptly scrapped, leaving behind a chain of NFT drops that amounted to a series of rug pulls. The projects never issued their own coins, and NFTs sold for about $80 each ended up offering little in terms of utility or promised benefits, rendering even the long-term memberships meaningless. From Frame Arms Girl: Dream Stadium to SWEET MONSTER, Vestria: The Last Order, and Project GD, they launched projects, sold NFTs, and then went two years without delivering a single incentive before shutting down the site and halting development—without any apology. I even played Frame Arms Girl, and when I saw that the top leaderboard reward was just a “DOSI Citizen,” it hit me hard how little these guys cared about real Web3 gaming incentives. This is exactly why, even as a Korean, I rarely give props to local projects—precedents like these from major players speak volumes.MOIRÉ · 1468· 1y ago · negative15
