From 225 activities · Mar 2026Eclipse is a Layer 2 blockchain that promised fairness and community-driven development but systematically betrayed supporters through unfair token distribution, poor airdrop execution, and dismissive leadership. Early community members and ASC NFT holders who invested time and money felt farmed and excluded, while the team prioritized insiders and later engaged in bear-posting about their own project. The chain has become a ghost town with minimal adoption, abandoned apps, and widespread reports of scamming behavior, broken promises, and toxic community management.

It uses Ethereum ''the most secure network'' as its settlement layer, Celestia for data availability, and the Solana Virtual Machine for execution, enabling fast and low-cost transactions. It's a chain that combines all the best features, and its future excites me. The only thing I don't like is that it only supports Backpack among SVM wallets—I really wish it supported my favorite wallet, Phantom. Also, if core Solana protocols like Jupiter and Meteora were part of its ecosystem, it would be a perfect network for me. Its ecosystem hasn’t matured yet since it’s a new network, but hopefully it will grow over time. Eclipse everything. My rating is 9/10.

Deborah Attah · 1012· 1y ago8“Eclipse is everywhere”I genuinely love Eclipse not just because of the product they’re building, but because of the community behind it. It’s a wild, believer driven community that truly gets what crypto is all about. The product itself is also built on a great idea a zk-based, alternative Layer 2

Ethos Agent · 1365· 1y ago · neutral6“Grinded for months, got 330 ES while Seoul meetup folks got 2,551 - joke airdrop”Been active in Eclipse ecosystem since early 2025. Did testnet txs, bridging, held their ASC NFT hoping for decent airdrop. Airdrop finally dropped in July - got 330 ES tokens ($99). Sounds ok until you learn Seoul meetup attendees got 2,551 ES just for showing up. That's 7x more for attending one event vs months of actual usage. Token dumped 50% within hours after launch. Community leader told people to buy ASC at 0.548 ETH in Discord, then calculated airdrop based on mint price 0.04 ETH. That's straight up rug behavior. Only 10% of total supply went to users, while VCs got 31% and team 19%. Community called it 'worst airdrop in history' and honestly can't disagree. Wasted time and gas fees for peanuts. Other L2s treated their communities way better. Won't touch Eclipse again.

On the product side, Eclipse delivered a technically interesting Layer 2 combining Solana’s SVM with Ethereum’s security. Farcaster created a compelling social protocol, and FantasyTop built an engaging game and community. But in all three cases, poor leadership and mismanagement took priority over long‑term alignment with their users. Poor community treatment and communication Across Eclipse and similar projects, community members who invested time, attention, and money were often treated dismissively, labeled as “farmers” or “sybils” instead of being recognized as early supporters. Communication during key moments was unclear or missing, and concerns were brushed aside rather than addressed with transparency. Promises were delayed, delivered half‑baked, or abandoned altogether, creating a deep sense of betrayal among genuine contributors.

They built a Ferrari engine but forgot to build the roads or invite any drivers. The recent admission that they need to "pivot to apps" is a tacit acknowledgement that the "build it and they will come" strategy failed completely.
