From 204 activities · Mar 2026Eclipse is widely characterized as a failed Layer 2 project that betrayed its community through unfair token distribution, broken promises, and poor execution. Early supporters—including NFT holders and active testnet participants—report feeling scammed after the TGE resulted in token price collapse, inadequate airdrops, and mass layoffs. The team faced criticism for toxic leadership, dismissive treatment of community members (labeling them as farmers and sybils), and a shift from long-term vision to short-term value extraction. The chain remains largely abandoned with minimal TVL and user activity, while leadership controversies—including allegations against founder Neel Somani—further eroded trust.

Titto Mikhati · 1388· 1y ago · negative12“A collection of scammers”Several people from the Eclipse team came a few months ago and launched a project. The Eclipse Layer 2 project. They used the Layer 2 hype. They encouraged people to spend on the network. The project founder and several team members repeatedly made empty promises. They encouraged people to buy the main collection of the project called asc. But in the end, 80% of people came out with a loss and those who just posted a picture of themselves on Discord and Twitter Gave them OG rolls and didn't care about people who spent hundreds of dollars

ArmanXo · 1280· 1y ago · negative12“Great Tech, Broken Trust: Why Eclipse Is Losing Its Community”When I first heard about Eclipse—fast like Solana, secure like Ethereum—I was all in. But here’s the thing: technology alone doesn’t build great projects. Community does. And that’s exactly where Eclipse has dropped the ball. Instead of leading with transparency and respect, their Community Lead made promises to loyal members and ASC holders that never really materialized. On top of that, the public drama with other projects came off as immature and tone-deaf. Then the TGE hit… and rather than being a win for the community, it left a lot of early supporters feeling burned. Eclipse might still have the tech to pull something off, but until they figure out how to respect and rally their own community, it’s hard to stay optimistic.

There is potential, and it is worth following its development!

The project promises modularity and flexibility, but the actual user experience and technical clarity often feel lacking. For something positioned as a next-generation scaling solution, it's not always clear how it's different in practice from other options already out there. There's also a noticeable gap between the marketing and the delivered product. A lot of the messaging sounds great, but when you dig in, it’s hard to find consistent technical documentation or transparency around progress. That makes it tough to evaluate the project on real merit rather than hype. Modular chains are an exciting idea, but Eclipse still has a lot to prove before it earns long-term trust. A more open and grounded approach would go a long way toward building real confidence in what they're building.

cryptoteck · 1360· 1y ago · neutral13“Eclipse promised innovation but delivered gimmicks”All hype, no value. Eclipse adds nothing meaningful to crypto. No real product, no traction, just tap-to-earn games and vague promises.
0xLegendz · 1443· 1y ago · negative13
0xLegendz · 1443· 1y ago · negative13“Good Tech, Bad Execution”Eclipse overpromised and underdelivered from the start. They never really managed to onboard quality projects, and that became obvious after the airdrop campaigns. The token itself didn not hold enough value to back a meaningful airdrop, which is why so many people ended up frustrated. I am m not mad about the airdrop just disappointed that what was promised never came through. Eclipse took a heavy hit after its TGE, and honestly, I think it might go down as the messiest launch of 2025. At first, I thought the pitch sounded exciting a mix of $ETH and $SOL with solid tech behind it but when the TGE arrived the network felt raw with no fun apps, no NFT traction, and barely anything to engage with. The tech might have been good on paper, but to me, without execution it feels like a failed attempt. On top of that, Alucard the marketing manager, emptied the NFT ASC collection vault right after launch which only fueled the negativity. Later he clarified that it was not his personal call the top management had made the decision and he could not do much about it. Now let's seee how they will perform. I hope they will learn from thier mistakes and improve it? However hopes are too less.
